The 2022 Jeep Renegade Red Edition joins the lineup of (RED)-branded vehicles to help provide relief against pandemics and spread awareness about HIV and other infectious diseases.

Stellantis partnered with the Global Fund to help deliver over $4 million during the next three years with unique (RED) Edition models. The jeep Compass, Fiat 500, and Ram 1500 (RED) Edition models kicked things off.

The (RED) Renegade features 19-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels, black roof rails, a body-colored painted roof, Colorado Red mirror caps, and unique (RED) badging. It’s available in shades of Alpine, Sting-Gray, Colorado Red, and Black paint.

You’ll notice that the interior consists of black bucket seats with Ski Great accent stitching. Trailhawk Ruby Red speakers and vent bezels help things pop. Also, you get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an 8.4-inch infotainment system.

The Renegade (RED) Edition costs about $31,185 and is based on a mid-level trim that includes Jeep’s Active Drive full-time 4×4 system. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Global Fund.

What else is new for the 2022 Renegade?

Aside from the 2022 Jeep Renegade RED Edition, there are only minor changes for this model year. The standard 7.0-inch touchscreen was dropped. Now the 8.4-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation is standard across each model.

The top-spec Limited trim got a revised grille and 18-inch wheels. Also, a new Alpine package features gloss-black exterior elements and attractive interior accents.

The standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 18- hp and 175 lb-ft of torque was dropped. Now the turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 177 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque is the sole powertrain option. It’s paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Rumors about a hybrid powertrain or Jeep Renegade 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain models are in the works. The current model gets an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in the city and up to 32 mpg on the highway.
