Jeep is deleting the Wagoneer’s most retro configuration for 2025
What was the last car you saw with a blue interior? Was it an old pickup truck with a velvet-like blue cloth stretched across its sagging bench seats? Or was it a big van with blue vinyl seats that bare skin got stuck to on hot summer days? Blue interiors were once a staple of the automotive market, and remind countless folks of the family vehicles of yesteryear. They fell out of style decades ago. But for a few glorious years, the blue interior made a return with Jeep’s retro Wagoneer SUVs. But this most retro configuration’s already gone–and you missed it.
By the 2020s, Ram had a pretty darn good truck chassis for its half-ton 1500. Just ask its customers who bought more of them than GMCs or Silverados. So its parent company decided to combine the platform with the beloved Jeep brand to take a swing at the full-size SUV market.
How do you go toe-to-toe with giants such as the Chevrolet Suburban, Lincoln Navigator, and Toyota Land Cruiser in a cutthroat market? Well if you’re Jeep, you go back in time. The company revived its old “Wagoneer” nameplate–that of the first luxury off-roader. And it leaned into this heritage with two-tone paint jobs, retro two-tone rims, and unique styling cues around the windows and liftgate. The vehicle is available as the entry-level Wagoneer or luxury-oriented Grand Wagoneer.

I believe the Wagoneer’s most retro option was its blue “Agave” leather interior. Pair that with a “Midnight” blue exterior and you have a fabulous SUV that looks like it popped out of the 80s. How would I configure it? Personally, I think it would look fabulous with one of the aftermarket wood panel vinyl kits and aftermarket “turbine” style rims just like the old Wagoneers had. But it looks like I missed my chance to build this dream Wagoneer.
Jeep has quietly removed the Agave option from its configurator for the 2025 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. In its place–on select trims–is a white-gray interior the color of your skin after a week with the flu. If you want a retro look, your best bet now is opting for a classic Wagoneer.
