Compact crossovers are hugely popular. The bestselling vehicle model in the U.S.A. is Ford’s F-Series lineup. Hot on its heels is the Chevrolet Silverado full-size truck family. But in third place is the Toyota RAV4 (from Georgetown, Kentucky), and fourth goes to the Honda CR-V (assembled in Indiana and Ohio). The humble Nissan Rogue (some of which are assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee) takes ninth. But that still puts it ahead of every Jeep model, every Subaru model, and some other perennial bestsellers.

Nissan sold 245,723 Rogues in 2024. That’s down slightly from the 271,458 it sold in 2023. But with the crossover’s latest full redesign in 2020, it makes sense sales dipped a bit. And that’s still a ton of vehicles. This thing outsold the Honda Civic AND Toyota Corolla. It even outsold the Tacoma. There’s no Jeep model or Subaru model that outsold the Rogue.

Is the Nissan Rogue made in Tennessee?

Just how much can the Nissan Rogue claim to be made in the USA? The truth is that some Rogues at US Nissan dealerships are made in Tennessee. But others are shipped here from Japan.

The Rogues with VINs that begin in 1,4, or 5 are assembled in Tennessee and 30.5% of their components come from the US Nissan Rogues with VINs that begin with “J” are assembled in Japan and 13.5% of their components originate in the USA before being shipped to Japan for assembly.
