The GMC Yukon is a nice SUV. It can be made nicer with the Denali luxury package. But for some the Yukon Denali is just too pedestrian. For those folks, there’s the Denali Reserve Package. The 2021 Yukon Denali could be ordered with the Ultimate Package. For 2022, it’s called Reserve. We can call it the Everything Package.

The Reserve Package is like getting a Cadillac Escalade for $13,000 less. Almost all of the features you can get on the $100,000 Escalade come on the Denali Reserve Package for $87,000.

What is the Yukon Denali Ultimate package?

The base Yukon is already well appointed and starts at $52,500. So what does $37,000 more get you? It gets you a full-size luxury SUV that is less truck and more luxury — but it doesn’t leave out the utility.

The list of options is long on the regular Yukon, or Yukon XL. The Yukon Denali is the same SUV, but it has so many more options GMC lists it as its own model.  The XL version is positively long, with an overall length of 225.2 inches. It’s only six inches shorter than a Crew Cab GMC Sierra 1500.

But for 8,610 over the price of a Denali, the Reserve Package gets 22-inch chrome wheels, power steps and a panoramic sunroof.

You also get all the goodies that the Denali gets, such as the added leather package (with Denali plaques), advanced infotainment with navigation, and perforated leather seats. Speaking of seats, it can be ordered in an eight-passenger version, or a seven passenger that has captain’s chairs in the middle.

It has all the technology that GMC can pack in it

The package comes with the heads-up display, a wi-fi hotspot, and a full host of safety and driver assistance features that include a following-distance indicator, lane keep assist, and a surround vision camera that can help you park it easier. It comes with many of the options that its corporate cousins from Chevrolet and Cadillac don’t.

GMC can give you a list of the options, but that’s not the best part. The leather and wood interior is stunning, and comes in four colors from creamy white to Darth Vader black. The seats are heated and ventilated. And, of course, it has the upgraded Bose stereo that makes whatever you’re listening to sparkle. The only option on the Reserve is rear seat entertainment screens, which are $1,995 extra.

The Denali Reserve Package comes with the 420 horsepower V8, and a host of goodies that make it a more practical SUV when you want to use it for towing.

It’s not just a luxury package. The Denali Ultimate package adds the Prograde Trailing System, which Is like an enhanced blind-spot warning system and in-SUV trailer-brake controller. It has a Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert. The alert package extends the blind spot monitor around whatever you’re towing, which can be a lot with an 8,000-pound towing ability. It also adds the Smart Trailer Integration Indicator that allows you to control a lot of the systems of your camper, such as HVAC controls, water levels, and the power slide outs, from the cabin of the Denali. It also adds adaptive cruse control hitch guidance, and other safety systems, which give it an edge of over similar luxury SUVs like the Lexus LX 600.

The Reserve Package also comes with GMC’s Adaptive Air Ride suspension that will self-level the Denali when you have a heavy load in back, or a heavy trailer, and it provides a smoother ride.
