The Honda Fireblade has been the envy of the U.S. motorcycle market for a long time. Finally, this year we got the 2021 Honda Fireblade SP in American showrooms all over the country. But with a starting price tag of nearly $30 grand, some enthusiasts are bound to balk at its costly price tag. Is the 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP worth its insanely high price?

Ultimately, that’s up to you. For the price of a new CBR1000RR-R SP you could buy a good car, truck, or SUV. But for impassioned Honda motorcycle riders that have been waiting for the 2021 Fireblade, none of those options are nearly as fun as a new CBR1000RR-R SP.

The 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP

According to Honda Powersports, this is not a bike to miss out on. The steep starting price of $28,500 plus a $450 destination fee is daunting, yes. But this is no ordinary bike. The 2021 Honda Fireblade SP is a motorcycle that enters the American market “offering a degree of performance you’ve liked never experienced.”

“The best of the best, the most exclusive, feature-rich open-class sportbike Honda has ever built under the CBR banner. Introducing the limited edition CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP. Street legal, but track ready.”

Honda Powersports

The standard features for the 2021 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP start with a robust engine. A 999cc liquid-cooled inline-four with 13:1 compression ratio is more than enough for maneuvering city streets, highway riding, as well as an exciting track experience. The Fireblade also gets standard equipment like the titanium Akrapovič muffler and Brembo brakes. In addition, Honda gave this CBR1000 machine standard Öhlins second-generation Smart EC suspension. It’s offered only in the SP trim and, for obvious reasons, Honda didn’t see the need for any other paint job options besides the red, white, and blue tri-color.

Why it’s worth the high price

It seems the folks at HotCars.com agree with us that it’s worth the steep price. The 2021 Honda Fireblade SP is a gem of a motorcycle. And it’s finally offered in American showrooms. Race technology is in this bike’s blood. After nearly two decades of evolution, Honda brings us arguably the best version of the CBR1000 yet.

“At $28,500 the 2021 Honda CBR 1000RR-R Fireblade SP is one of the most dangerous track weapons in the history of motorcycles and it’s worth every cent”

Ariana Hale | HotCars.com

The all-new completely modernized and updated limited edition model of the Honda Fireblade SP may not come cheap. But it does come awesome. With “track-tuned characteristics,” this street legal beast backs up its price.

Plus, this limited production CBR1000 won’t be manufactured for the masses. This is probably a good thing too. It’s not exactly a beginner’s bike. Though it is sure to maneuver with ease, navigating turns and high speeds as we expect from a Honda machine, this bike isn’t for the faint of heart––or the first time rider.

Limited production Fireblade

Obviously, part of the draw of this bike is that there won’t be a lot of riders out there who get the chance to own one. Not only is the level of the bike tune to the elite rider, but its high price means serious buyers only. The limited production 2021 Honda Fireblade SP just hit showrooms, but they won’t likely be there for long.
