It’s no secret that monster trucks have colossal prices, but the Silverado surprised us a little. Even though this is stressful information, you should know that the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison costs over $78k.

How much does the 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison cost?

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison price starts at $78,490, including the $1,795 destination fee. The Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 begins at $71,500. So, it’s about $6,990 for Bison upgrades.

Also, the 2023 Silverado begins at about $36,300, so the off-roading upgrades get expensive in a hurry. The 2023 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro comes in at $68,520, and the 2023 Ford F-150 Tremor comes in at $60,110.

The famous monster trucks like the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX start at 84,335, and the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R begins at $109,145. But these are designed for high-speed racing instead of hitting the off-roading trails.

The Silverado Bison has a higher price compared to other off-roading options, but it also takes things a bit further.

What comes with the 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison?

The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 ZR2 Bison kicks things off with 18-inch Gloss Black wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. It has powder-coated AEV steel bumpers, steel rock rails, and five boron steel skid plates for underbody protection.

Each bumper has built-in steps and towing hooks. Plus, there are locking differentials in the front and rear.

It builds upon the ZR2’s Mulitmatic 40-mm DSSV spool valve dampers and off-road-tuned springs. It features the one-pedal driving mode that’s helpful for climbing over rocks and other obstacles.

The 2023 Silverado Bison has an 11.2-inch ground clearance. It features a 32.4-degree approach angle and a departure angle of 23.4 degrees. It was developed with the help of American Expedition Vehicles and primarily adds protective elements.

This beast uses the existing 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission that powers each wheel.

If you don’t want to spring for the 2023 Chevy Silverado1500 ZR2 Bison, then the chevy Silverado ZR2 is a great option. It just has less protection and lacks the matte black AEV badging.

It has the same ground clearance, engine, locking differentials, and rides on the same 33-inch tires with different 18-inch wheels. But it does have slightly lower approach and departure angles. It has tow hooks in the front and rear too.

Plus, the ZR2 has the suspension upgrades that the Bison borrows but uses aluminum skid plates instead of steel ones.

It seems like it’s only worth upgrading to the Bison if you need more protection or like the way it looks. Will you be doing things that require steel skid plates instead of aluminum ones? Will you climb over obstacles that need a slightly better approach angle?
