The decision to drive while under the influence is one of the worst a driver can make. It causes several car accidents each year and has devastated several families. Recently, police conducted a traffic stop on one man, and he got a DUI charge. However, the interesting thing is that this was his second brush with this level of crime in a month. Now, he’s facing some serious consequences.

Deciding to drive while under the influence is bad enough, but doing it multiple times is reckless

According to 14 News, police officers in Evansville were on patrol duty when they spotted a blue Chevrolet Cruze. The driver was in the right lane and going at a low rate of speed. However, the officer saw the driver cross the centerline and run a red light. Apparently, the person behind the wheel also hit a curb while entering a parking lot. This prompted them to pull the person over for a traffic stop.

Things continued, and the driver complied with the police traffic stop. After talking to the man and getting his identifying information, the officers learned that he was a 30-year-old who had gotten a DUI charge only a month prior. Because of this, as well as the way he had been driving, they had him submit to standardized field sobriety testing. He failed these tests and also blew a .340 on a portable breathalyzer. Of course, this all means he was in no shape to be behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Following the traffic stop, the police took the man to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where they held him without bond. Regarding his previous arrest for having decided to drive while under the influence, the man had been found driving the wrong way. At that time, the police labeled him as “highly intoxicated.”
