People often say, “It’s a crazy world out there.” Sadly, this is true, and it’s especially the case with people committing crimes and then trying to run from the traffic stop when police officers are in pursuit. This happened recently in Illinois after a home invasion that turned into a multi-agency police chase. Sadly, the suspect is still out there following the dangerous pursuit.

Not only did the person evade a traffic stop, but they’re still at-large

According to Fox 2 Now, there was a home invasion at around 9:30 pm on December 6th in Collinsville, Illinois, where the suspect, a man, fired at least one shot. Of course, someone called the police, and they soon saw him in a Gray Toyota truck. This led the officers to try to make a traffic stop, but the suspect fled. Because of the nature of the crime, the police chase intensified and involved multiple agencies.

The police officers continued to attempt the traffic stop, and the report says the suspect fired multiple shots at them in the process. Regarding distance, the chase went into St. Louis before ending due to public safety. Luckily, no one was injured in the pursuit, and multiple police agencies are actively looking for the male suspect.

In terms of the shooting that led to the attempted traffic stop, law enforcement says that this was not a random attack. The suspect is said to have known the residents of the home, but it’s unclear why the shooting happened. There are leads in the investigation. Still, the police are asking anyone with information to reach out to the Madison County Sheriff’s office.

This is a developing story.
