I will admit that the Jeep Compass hasn’t been on my radar. But I’m in the process of reviewing one at the moment and it’s surprisingly better than expected. After learning about its price and standard features, I declare this Jeep SUV to be a straight-up bargain. 

How much does the 2024 Jeep Compass cost? 

The 2024 Jeep Compass has an MSRP of $25,900. But the $1,595 destination increases the starting price to $27,495, meaning it’s a rare SUV that actually starts under $30,000. 

Rivals are a bit more expensive. For example, the 2024 Toyota RAV4 has an MSRP of $28,675. Adding the $1,350 destination fee increases the starting price to $30,025. 

This means that the Compass starts at $2,530 lower than the coveted RAV4. But if you don’t think that makes it a bargain yet, stick with me. 

The Compass has standard AWD across the entire lineup, which is an excellent cash-saving perk. It costs $1,400 to add AWD to the 2024 RAV4. 

That’s actually pretty good because it can cost between $2,000 to $3,000 to add AWD to modern SUVs. However, the starting price of an RAV4 model with AWD is $31,425. That’s $3,930 more than the standard Compass with AWD. 

Also, the Compass is no slouch. It has a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 200 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. The Compass can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.3 seconds. 

The RAV4 has a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. It reaches 60 mph in about 9.1 seconds. After driving both SUVs, the difference in power is very noticeable. Also, on that matter, the Compass is more comfortable. 

Standard features for the Jeep Compass include 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention warning, and rear seat reminder. 

That’s more standard safety features than most rivals have to offer. This SUV is simply a well-rounded bargain.
