Shopping Hyundai’s lineup of SUVs

Hyundai has no shortage of SUVs in its lineup. From the new Hyundai Venue to the 2021 Hyundai Palisade, this year’s new Hyundai lineup features a total of seven SUVs to pick from. Whether you’re on the hunt for a three-row family hauler or have your heart set on a new Hyundai Tucson, this year’s lineup has got you covered.

For a fuel-efficient SUV, check out the 2020 Hyundai Kona, which was named the 2020 Best Electric Vehicle by U.S. News & World Report. And if its the Hyundai Tucson that you so desire? You can rest assured knowing that the 2020 Tucson was ranked #1 in Initial Quality with Compact SUVs by J.D. Power.

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade was named a ‘Best New Car of 2020’ by Autotrader too. According to Autotrader, “The Hyundai Palisade strikes the perfect balance between an affordable volume car and a premium luxury car. Hyundai has stepped up its game big time, emerging as a modern automaker delivering style, features, and value, all in one attractive package.”

What Kia’s lineup has to offer

Kia has no shortage of SUVs to offer either. Among this year’s lineup are the Kia Soul, Seltos, Sportage, Niro, Sorento, and the Kia Telluride. Kia’s lineup of SUVs has earned many awards too.

The 2020 Kia Soul was included in Autotrader’s ‘10 Best Cars for Dog Lovers’ list for 2020. Autotrader has also recognized the 2021 Kia Seltos as one of the ‘10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates in 2020.’ As for the Kia Sedona? This year’s model has been recognized by PARENTS magazine as one of the ‘Best Family Cars of 2020.’

Autotrader also tapped the 2020 Kia Telluride as a ‘Best New Car of 2020.’ Per Autotrader, “The Telluride is an excellent SUV –  a homerun for Kia. Everything about it is terrific – the look, the ride, the features, the space. It’s a well-executed midsize SUV that somehow manages to be simple, authentic and luxurious all at the same time.”

How do these two brands compare?

According to the 2020 Brand Keys Customer Loyalty Engagement Index, Hyundai has also been named number one in customer loyalty for 11-years running. In 2018, Hyundai also had the lowest 5-Year Cost to Own of all brands, according to Kelley Blue.

Kia, on the other hand, was ranked number one in the industry by J.D. Power in its 2020 U.S. Initial Quality Study. Though Hyundai was unable to land the top spot on the list like Kia did, it did find itself in the top 10 brands included in the study.

When comparing these two brands, it’s also worth considering the differences in warranty coverage. While both automakers claim to provide industry-leading warranty coverage, one automaker does offer better coverage. All new Kia models are accompanied by a 5-year/100,000 mile limited anti-perforation warranty, while new Hyundai models come with a 7-year/unlimited mileage anti-perforation warranty.

Should you buy a Hyundai SUV? Or is a Kia SUV more your style?

Choosing between these two brands is going to be difficult. Both Hyundai and Kia offer several SUVs to choose from, many of which have been recognized as favorites among the SUV segment.

In the end, choosing the best SUV for your needs is comes down to personal preference. Fortunately, with so many options available, you’re bound to find the perfect SUV for your daily driving needs when shopping both lineups.
