Is the Toyota Camry an alternative to the Hyundai Sonata?

Yes, the Toyota Camry is an alternative to the Hyundai Sonata. In fact, according to U.S. News & World Report, the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata are “two of the most well-rounded, value-oriented midsize sedans on the market.” That beind said, it’s worth noting that the Toyota Camry is a slightly more expensive alternative to the Hyundai Sonata.

The good news is that the Toyota Camry is able to make up for its slightly higher price tag. While both vehicle are a great choice in terms of safety, it’s the Toyota Camry that was recognized by the IIHS as a Top Safety Pick+. The Sonata, on the other hand, was tapped by the IIHS as a Top Safety Pick. According to the IIHS, the Sonata earned lower scores for its headlights and its LATCH ease of use.

Shop Kia’s lineup and you’ll be pleased to find that the Kia K5 makes for an attractive alternative to the Hyundai Sonata. It boasts a base price of $23,590 and, according to MotorTrend, has the edge when it comes to interior space. Though both sedans are spacious to begin with, MotorTrend reports that it’s the Kia K5 that offers more legroom for second row passengers. It also provides more hip room for all passengers.
