It’s a weird time for buying and selling new SUVs. Car prices are out of control, and there are massive shortages at nearly every car manufacturer. Perhaps most surprising in all of this is how quickly hybrid SUVs are selling. Five of the top twenty fastest-selling cars are hybrid SUVs. Let’s look at what they are and why they might be selling so quickly.

In order to determine what the fastest-selling cars are, iSeeCars looked at over 900,000 car sales in the month of September. Then it compiled data to analyze those sales. It found that new cars took an average of 24.6 days to sell in September. This is up from August, when it took 26 days for the average car to sell. iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer weighed in on this trend. “Car buyers are willing to pay over MSRP for new cars and highly-elevated used car prices because they have embraced the reality that inventory shortages are here to stay for the next several months.”
