GMC just revealed the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, and with it a whole host of trims. These include the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate which, as the name suggests, is GMC’s most upscale truck. Yet perhaps the most enticing new addition to the GMC Sierra 1500 lineup is the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X. It comes in one level above the Sierra 1500 AT4, and it offers a whole lot. So how much is a fully loaded 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X?

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X costs

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X starts at $74,995, according to the GMC website. This is nearly $15,000 more than the regular 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. GMC says, “This new trim brings first-class luxury while elevating the rugged capability the AT4 brand is built on.” If you want a high-end model within the AT4X line like the Obsidian Rush, you’ll have to wait until closer to production to get that information, according to GMC. However, you can reserve your truck now at the base price.

The 2022 AT4X is built to off-road in style

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X has a 6.2-liter V8 matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 2022 AT4X also has a two-speed transfer case that allows for easy selection of off-road modes. There’s an Off-Road mode to give your truck momentum when you’re traveling over surfaces that are difficult to get traction on, like gravel. The 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X also has rear e-locking differentials for low traction surfaces.There’s also a Terrain Mode for one-pedal driving, when you need more control in a technical environment.

Underbody skid plates protect the underneath of your 2022 GMC T4X, and an increased suspension makes the ride smoother. One of the ways you know the difference between the Sierra 1500 AT4 and the Sierra 1500 AT4X are the black wheels and the AT4X-specific grille.

The similarities between the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X and the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate can’t go unnoticed. GMC is bringing an upscale vibe to this off-roading masterpiece that even the most rugged pickup truck owner won’t hate. It’s all leather and wood and heated seats, which are always a hit in cold-weather climates. There’s even a microsuede headliner in the Obsidian Rush model.
