How much is the 2022 GMC Yukon?

The 2022 GMC Yukon price starts at $52,100, but that’s far from where it ends. The 2022 GMC Yukon Denali price starts at $70,045 for the diesel engine. It’s possible to make that even higher by upgrading to the 6.2-liter V8 engine, which costs $71,695. Packages and add-ons drive up the price even more.

Most colors will cost you extra, though White Frost Tricoat is the most expensive, at $1,095. Add on the Denali Premium Package for a ‘discounted’ $6,600, which comes with power-retractable steps, a panoramic sunroof, and a rear camera washer.

Extra packages make the Yukon even more expensive

This will also include an Advanced Technology Package that includes important safety features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. It also includes the Max Trailering Package and Advanced Security Package. For another $450 you can get a cargo package and $550 beyond that gives you an illumination package, which will allow GMC to advertise its logo on your SUV in bright red lights. There’s also an available interior protection package, a rear-seat entertainment package.

If you add on all of these things, the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali can climb all the way up to $85,235. That’s not an insignificant amount of money. Still, you get an awful lot in your Denali, so it’s possible you may want to spend that money anymore.

Is the GMC Yukon a good car?

The 2022 GMC Yukon is only ranked #7 out of 9 on Consumer Reports’ list of large sport-utility vehicles. Obviously, that’s not a great rating. It only gets a 39/100 for its overall score and a 73/100 for its road-test score. On top of that, its reliability rating is just a 1/5. The predicted owner satisfaction score is just 3/5.

One of the biggest disadvantages to the 2022 GMC Yukon is its size. The Yukon is pretty large, and Consumer Reports says that it’s difficult to get into. In addition, it has a tall hood, which makes forward visibility poor. This is especially disadvantageous because of the dangers of tall vehicles and small children – taller SUVs and trucks are more deadly because of drivers’ inability to clearly see what is in front of them.

Overall, the 2022 GMC Yukon price is a hefty one, especially if you opt for the Denali trim line. Add on some of those packages and accessories, and you’re getting close to six figures for an SUV with only mediocre owner satisfaction ratings. Is it worth it?
