The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning price starts at $39,974. This is for the Ford Lightning Pro, which is the base model electric Ford truck. It comes with a 2.4kW battery, can go 230 miles on a single charge, and has Ford’s suite of safety features known as Co-Pilot360. There’s also an extended range battery available, which can take the Lightning up to 300 miles on a single charge. The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro also has a 12-inch touchscreen.

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning XLT is a step up from the pro, and it’s a considerable price jump too. The XLT price starts at $52,974. What does that extra money get you? The XLT adds front lighting, a 360 camera, and an interior work surface, making the Lightning ideal for work. With the extended range battery, the XLT price jumps up to $72,474. The XLT also comes with extended running boards. The styling of the XLT is more refined, with a gray metallic grille announcing that this is a nicer Ford Lightning.

Next up the Ford electric truck ladder is the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat, starting at $67,474. However, if you select the extended range battery on the Lariat, that price becomes $77,474. The Lariat has a geometric gray grille, 20-inch dark gray wheels, and heated and ventilated front seats. It also comes with a power tailgate, a 15.5-inch touchscreen, and a twin-panel moonroof.

The most expensive Ford Lightning is the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum. The price of the Platinum is $90,874. You’ll know the Lightning Platinum by its black and chrome-accented grille, 22-inch aluminum wheels, and multi-contour front seats. Those front seats also come heated and ventilated. The Platinum comes standard with an extended range battery, as well as a premium sound system, and a twin-panel moonroof.

How many F-150 Lightning Reservations are there?

Although Ford had originally planned on aiming to produce 80,000 Lightnings, rumor has it they only plan on actually making 15,000 in 2022. Still, Ford has accepted more than 200,000 reservations. Now they’re aiming to be able to produce 160,000 Lightnings by 2024.

What does this mean for Ford Lightning reservation holders? Well, it may mean that you aren’t getting your truck when you thought you were. If Ford doesn’t have the F-150 Lightning that you’ve put a deposit down on, you may defer a year. You can also order a different model or get your money back. However, if you are already a big Ford-spender, you may have a better shot at getting your truck. Ford is letting dealers have some priority spots for their most devoted customers.
