Any automaker that wants to be successful in today’s market builds SUVs of some kind. And Ford is no exception to that rule. Currently, for 2022, Ford has eight different SUV models, ranging from off-road monsters to performance EVs. Because of this, there is likely a Ford SUV that will satisfy your needs.

What SUVs does Ford manufacture?

There are eight different SUVs in the Ford lineup, including:

  • 2023 Ford Bronco Sport
  • 2022 Ford Bronco
  • 2022 Mustang Mach-E
  • 2022 Ford EcoSport
  • 2022 Edge
  • 2022 Escape
  • 2022 Ford Explorer
  • 2022 Expedition

Each of these vehicles brings something unique to the table. Since its introduction, the Ford Bronco has been one of the hottest vehicles on the market. It delivers on off-road ability, along with daily usability. And for those that want something smaller, there is the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport.

For those in search of a family SUV, a Ford can be the answer. The Ford Explorer and the Ford Expedition both offer room for the whole family. And they can even handle some adventuring, which might be good for you if you lead an active lifestyle.

What are the different sizes of the Ford SUVs?

Ford SUVs range from compact crossovers to full-size SUVs. That fact is a reflection of the Blue Oval’s commitment to this segment. Outside of the Mustang, Ford no longer sells cars in the United States, putting all of its efforts into developing SUVs and trucks.

Although Toyota has the best-selling SUV in America through the RAV4, Ford does build some SUVs that are worth considering. According to Car and Driver, the 2023 Ford Escape offers multiple powertrain options. Plus, it now boasts a variety of standard safety features. And for under $30,000, that makes for a good value proposition.

Should you buy a used Ford SUV?

If buying a new SUV is not the right call, a used Ford can be a good alternative. According to Kelley Blue Book, Fords are generally reliable. But, there are some model years that are best avoided.

You should also consider the size of vehicle that you need. Because Ford produces a range of SUVs, finding the right pick can be a bit overwhelming. Once you determine whether you need a compact crossover or a mid-size SUV, getting the proper pick will be an easier task.

In addition to SUV size, there is also fuel type to consider. A used SUV may come with a traditional gasoline engine, but the brand also makes hybrid SUVs and now even electric SUVs. Brands are planning to phase out gasoline in the coming years, so it makes sense that we will see more EVs hitting the used market.

Which Ford is best?

Ultimately when it comes to an SUV, the best one is the one that fits your lifestyle needs. Additionally, you will want a vehicle that matches your budget. It can be easy for a car payment to become unaffordable quickly. And that is not something that you want.
