As a non-domestic brand, Toyota does produce some popular pickup trucks. Both the 2023 Toyota Tacoma and the 2023 Toyota Tundra bring a lot to the table. And it’s possible they could convince you to stray away from brands like Ford and Ram. So, how many pickups are currently offered by Toyota?

Is there a 2023 Toyota Tacoma?

Toyota has introduced its 2023 mid-size truck in form of the Tacoma. It is fairly similar to the 2022 model, but there are now two new appearance packages that buyers can opt for. These packages are available to the SR5 trim level, and they do offer some notable changes.

The SX package is now available for the V6 SR5. It delivers a variety of blacked-out features, including black wheels and black badging. Black over-fenders are also added for a more aggressive look.

For a sharper look, the Chrome package is now available. As its name suggests, this package adds a range of chrome equipment. Another notable change is a leather-wrapped shift knob for a more premium feel.

According to Car and Driver, the 2024 Toyota Tacoma will mark a total redesign for this mid-size truck. Currently, the Tacoma is one of the hottest mid-size pickups on the market. But, it is starting to show its age. It is definitely time for a new generation of Toyota Tacoma.

Does the 2023 Tundra have a V8?

As Toyota’s full-size truck, it is a little bit interesting that the 2023 Tundra does not offer a V8 engine. It is currently the only full-size truck that does not feature eight cylinders. Instead of a V8, Toyota has gone with a twin-turbo V6.

This engine is available as a standard V6, or you can opt for a hybrid variant. The hybrid version makes 437 horsepower and 538 pound-foot of torque. The base engine makes 389 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque.

The Toyota Tundra is all-new for 2023. And it does truly look the part of a full-size truck. Especially the TRD Pro model.

Does Toyota make a small truck?

At the moment, one thing is lacking from Toyota’s catalog, and that is a small truck. With brands like Hyundai and Ford building unibody, compact trucks, Toyota is likely missing out on the party. There is a clear platform that the brand could use to build a Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz competitor.

The RAV4 SUV could be converted into a small truck. And Toyota could likely use its hybrid technology as well. It’s unclear if that will happen or not, but if it did, it’s hard to imagine it not selling well.

How many trucks does Toyota have?

In 2022, Toyota builds two different truck models. These include the 2023 Toyota Tacoma and the 2023 Toyota Tundra. The Tacoma is one of the better-selling mid-size trucks on the market, and the Tundra has been completely redesigned.

Perhaps in the future, we will see a true small truck offered by Toyota. Until then, this brand only builds two pickup trucks.
