Horses, Goats, and Chickens Recovered in Colorado Stolen Car Raid
What would you expect police to recover while serving a stolen-vehicle warrant? Maybe some Hyundais. A few Kias. Possibly a Hellcat or two.
An entire herd of neglected horses, goats, and chickens probably wouldn’t make the list. Welcome to Colorado.
Police in Aurora were tracking a series of car thefts. Investigators said they were dealing with professional criminals. The suspects could reprogram vehicles in seconds. They also swapped license plates within 30 minutes to evade detection.
Using Flock Safety’s AI-powered license plate cameras, officers tracked multiple stolen vehicles to a sprawling property on Chambers Road.
From horsepower to horses
On Wednesday morning, officers arrived to serve a search warrant. They recovered four stolen vehicles. They also found a large cache of parts stripped from other stolen cars.
Police arrested six people at the scene.
While searching the property, officers noticed something else. Authorities say they discovered multiple horses, goats, and chickens that were not being properly cared for. Some animals showed signs of neglect and possible abuse.
Police contacted Aurora Animal Control. Officers responded and removed the animals, taking them to safety.
There is no word yet on where the cut-up Dodge Ram trucks being towed from the property will end up.
