It’s two of the biggest car names in affordability and reliability: Honda and Toyota. However, even the two titans of debatable reliability aren’t quite equal; one of the automakers is arguably the more dependable option. Still, models like the Toyota Avalon and Honda Civic have some of the finest names in reliable transportation. So, which one is the most reliable affordable car brand: Honda or Toyota?

Do Toyota cars last long?

Toyota cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs tend to last a long time. For instance, Toyota dominated iSeeCars’ list of the longest-lasting cars, with six of the top 10 vehicles for longevity. According to the reliability list, the Toyota Land Cruiser and Sequoia have the longest potential lifespan, with 18.2% and 14.2% of units showing over 200,000 miles on their odometers, respectively.

Beyond the Land Cruiser and Sequoia, the 4Runner, Tundra, Avalon, and Prius are all in the top 10 longest-lasting vehicles on iSeeCars’ list. Each one has the potential to sail past 200,000 miles with proper care and maintenance.

What Toyota model is the most reliable?

A Toyota Camry, like this one, is one of the reasons Toyota reliability is comparable to Honda in terms of reliable and affordable car brands.

The Toyota lineup features many reliable and long-lasting models. For instance, the Camry Hybrid is among the most dependable vehicles in the automaker’s list of offerings. That’s good news for fans of the brand’s flagship midsize sedan.

According to Consumer Reports, the Camry Hybrid is the most reliable model of the 2022 lineup. However, the Toyota Land Cruiser took the top spot in iSeeCars’ reliability ratings for the automaker. Specifically, the Land Cruiser scored first out of 31 three-row SUVs regarding reliability and value.

After the Camry Hybrid and Land Cruiser, the Toyota 4Runner, Tundra, and Avalon are some of the automaker’s other dependable models. Moreover, RepairPal gives Toyota a 4.0 out of 5.0 in terms of reliability. That puts Toyota in the number eight spot out of the top 32 brands in terms of reliability. Incidentally, the automaker dropped from fifth to seventh behind marques like Kia, Hyundai, and Mazda.

Are Honda cars long-lasting?

Honda cars, like Toyota, are long-lasting and dependable. However, Honda only had two vehicles make the top 20 longest-lasting list, according to iSeeCars. Those two high-mileage cruisers are the Ridgeline and Odyssey, a pickup truck and minivan with the potential to last much longer than 200,000 miles.

Still, the Honda Accord and Civic are renowned for their dependability, reliability, and sensibility. What’s more, after years of questionable styling, the Civic and Accord wear welcomed next-generation refreshes.

Which Honda is most reliable?

Of the Honda models, the Honda HR-V scored the highest in terms of reliability. According to RepairPal, the Honda model snagged a 5.0 out of 5.0, putting it at the top of the subcompact SUV category.

Moreover, RepairPal identifies Honda as the most reliable car brand on the market for 2022. Also, Honda is just ahead of its own subbrand, Acura, which takes the number two spot. However, iSeeCars awarded several Toyota models the top spots in their segments in terms of reliability, like the Tundra, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and Avalon.
