Is America starting to lose its obsession with full-size trucks? Probably not, sales for the Ford F-150 are stronger than ever. However, the Honda CR-V is a Japanese SUV that’s currently outselling two large American trucks.

The Honda CR-V outsells two American trucks

Congratulations, you made it to the fourth quarter of 2025. Now you get to enjoy the spooky season and updated sales figures from the automotive industry.

One interesting takeaway is the fact that the Honda CR-V is crushing it by outselling two full-size American trucks. For example, it has sold 307,501 SUVs so far this year.

It’s experiencing a 3% sales increase compared to 2024. Also, the CR-V Hybrid is responsible for 165,633 sales and has a 14% sales increase.

Then the Ram 1500 falls behind it in fifth place on the list of best-selling cars for 2025. So far, this truck has sold 262,386 models. Its sales have decreased by 2%, year to date.

Reintroducing the HEMI V8 engine in the third quarter may have helped boost sales. The automaker is banking on it to increase sales in the fourth quarter of the year. However, it’s currently behind the CR-V by 45,115 models.

Next, we have the luxurious GMC Sierra 1500. According to Car and Driver, this truck sold 251,845 models during the first three quarters of the year. It actually has a 10% sales increase compared to 2024, though.

During the third quarter of 2025, sales climbed by 7%. Perhaps aggressive discounts and end-of-the-year sales pushes are to thank. It could easily pass the Ram 1500.

Also, the Toyota RAV4 is in third place with 358,134 sales, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is in second place with 422,685 sales. The Ford F-150 is once again untouchable in first place with 597,546 models sold thus far.
