The Highest-Rated Trucks and SUVs of 2022 According to Motor1
If you’re interested in buying one of the best trucks or SUVs of 2022, look no further. Motor1 recently named its top 10 highest-rated vehicles of the year. Of course, this comprises cars, trucks, SUVs, and more. However, we’re only focused on the best trucks and SUVs. Only two pickups managed to earn themselves a top-10 position. Here are the highest-rated trucks and SUVs of 2022, according to Motor1.
Motor1’s highest-rated trucks: 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor
First, the 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor is one of the highest-rated pickup trucks of 2022. Motor1 gave the performance model a 9.3/10 overall, earning it one of the best scores sitewide. Notably, it’s a big, wide, gas-guzzling model, but its performance outshines its downfalls. A 450-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 and a Fox Racing long-travel suspension make the Raptor fun to drive.
“‘Fun-to-drive’ usually applies to a sports car’s performance on a canyon road, but in the F-150 Raptor’s case, it means snappy acceleration on asphalt and stump-jumping composure everywhere else,” the publication said.
Not only is it a blast to drive, but it’s incredible on the inside as well. A comfortable interior highlights the pickup, with leather and microfiber suede upholstery and a smooth ride. Together, these features turn the F-150 Raptor into one of the best pickup trucks of 2022.
Highest-rated pickup: 2022 GMC Hummer EV
Next, Motor1 only gave one other truck a high enough score to reach the top 10. In addition, it scored well enough to beat the F-150 Raptor. GMC’s Hummer EV is new for the 2022 model year; enough were not produced for most people to see them on the street. However, there’s still a lot to love about the all-electric truck.
Motor1 calls it “effortlessly quick and utterly capable off-road.” For now, its incredibly high price and limited availability are its detriments. However, production is improving for most automakers, and GMC plans to produce lower-priced versions in the future. That’s why Motor1 loves what it sees so far from the brand’s first electric truck.
2 Genesis SUVs made the top 10 highest-rated SUVs
One of the newest automakers in the industry has taken it by storm. Nearly every Genesis model has glowing reviews, and Motor1’s top 10 highest-rated list is no different. Both the 2022 Genesis GV60 and GV70 crossovers made the list. The GV60 is the more powerful, entertaining, and feature-filled version of its cheaper siblings, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. Since those models are excellent in their own right, it really says something that the GV60 is superior in every way.
Next, the Genesis GV70 earned the second-highest overall rating from the publication. Scoring 9.6 out of 10, the GV70 is a compact crossover with immense luxury. Even using the base engine, a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder, the output is 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the interior is a picture of luxury, providing features like a 14.5-inch touchscreen display on the front center dash.
Surprise, the Ford Bronco Raptor is one of the highest-rated SUVs
Not only did the Bronco Raptor make Motor1’s top 10 list, but it earned one of the best compliments we’ve seen reviewers give to a vehicle.
“Close your eyes and imagine your perfect vehicle. Practicality is a concern, so you’ll want seating for at least four adults. Performance is important, too, so nothing less than 400 horsepower, please. And a dash of top-down fun would be nice. Now open your eyes and take a good, long look at the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor.”
What else can you say about it? It has on- and off-road performance, a high-quality interior, a comfortable ride, and more. The only things it doesn’t provide are a low starting price and fuel efficiency. However, why are you shopping for a Ford Bronco Raptor anyway if you’re looking for those things?
Motor1’s highest-rated SUV is the Land Rover Range Rover
Finally, the highest-rated SUV for 2022, according to Motor1, is the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover. Earning an impressive 9.7 rating, the Range Rover got it done. The model simply needed to build on its already sterling reputation as a classic luxury SUV. The reviewer called it a joy to drive, regardless of your chosen engine. The available engines are a turbocharged straight-six or a twin-turbocharged BMW V8.
Either way, the latest Range Rover is a smooth-riding, powerful SUV with immense luxury. Even rear-seat passengers always ride in comfort. Motor1 even appreciates the model’s new four-seat layout, which rivals Maybach in luxury.
The highest-rated cars, trucks, and SUVs are a mixed bag of goodness. However, the trucks and SUVs offer more surprises. Do you think these models deserve to be the highest-rated trucks and SUVs of 2022?
