1. The 2022 Kia Niro is the best hybrid and electric SUV

The 2022 Kia Niro electric SUV is ranked first by Consumer Reports of all electric vehicles. The Kia Niro gets an overall score of 88, with a perfect predicted reliability rating and an excellent predicted owner satisfaction score. 

The 2022 Kia Niro EV price starts at $39,090, though the price can get up to $44,650. For that money, you’ll get an electric SUV that gets up to 239 miles on a single charge. Consumer Reports says that even compared to the luxury 2022 Tesla Model 3, the Niro EV has “a more forgiving ride, a roomier interior, and easier-to-use controls.”

The Niro EV is also compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and comes with an impressive suite of safety features. These include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. It also has lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and rear-cross traffic warning. 

2. The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime is the best hybrid SUV

Consumer Reports says that the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime is the best hybrid SUV. The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime SE starts at $39,800. The higher-end RAV4 Prime XSE starts at $43,125, though you can certainly drive that price up with add-ons and options.

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime gets 38 mpg. However, its MPGe is 94 miles. According to Kelley Blue Book, the MPGe is the miles per gallon equivalent that the Environmental Protection Agency uses gives the RAV4 Prime a rating of 94 MPGe.

This comes from a 2.5-liter four-cylinder combustion engine and an electric motor powered b.y a lithium-ion battery. Together, this gives the 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime 302 hp. The XSE can take just 2.5 hours to charge with a 6.6 kWh 240 volt battery. However, you can also use a 120-volt charger, but it will take up to 12 hours to charge.

3. The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e is an incredible electric SUV

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e takes the second spot on Consumer Report list of best electric vehicles. It has an overall score of 82, a predicted reliability rating of 4/5, and a perfect predicted owner satisfaction rating.

The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-e price starts at $46,695 for the base model, the Select.  It has a 120-volt or 240-volt charging cable and is DC fast-charging capable. This can support up to 150-kW charging stations. The rear-wheel Select can get up to 230 miles of range with an engine that makes 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. The Mach-e can seat up to five with its synthetic leather seating. The Mustang Mach-e has a 15.5-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch digital cluster. It boasts a panoramic sunroof and features like hands-free driving.
