Heartbreak in LA as Expecting Couple and Their Unborn Baby Killed in Police Pursuit Crash

In a heartbreaking incident, an expecting couple from Pomona and their unborn baby were killed in a crash when the suspect’s vehicle crashed into theirs during a police pursuit.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, the suspect, 31-year-old Marshall Campbell Judson, now faces three murder charges, including one for the death of the unborn child. He is being held on a bail amount of $6 million.

26-year-old Marc Anthony Trejo Saldívar and his partner, 25-year-old Jennifer Alejandra Loera-Zarco, were identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

What makes the story truly tragic is that they were preparing for the birth of their baby boy the following Friday. Marc’s father, Tony Trejo, said:

“He had just finished setting up the bassinet, shelves, and his baby basket.”

Trejo said that on the day of the crash, Marc had begun the day working on an accessory dwelling unit at their home in Santa Ana, where he planned to live with his wife and the baby.

The couple went out to get food at an In-N-Out in Pomona, and soon after they exited the drive-through, the suspect’s car, which was being chased by police, crashed into their car.

The Last Goodbye That Never Came

Marc worked for the City of Pomona and was a social media freelancer. Trejo was filled with regret that he could not say goodbye to his son that day. Marc’s mother, however, got the chance to bid goodbye, but she never knew it was their last farewell.

Trejo added that his daughter-in-law, Loera Zarco, worked with the Pomona Unified School District as a student aide, supporting children on the autism spectrum.

A fundraiser has been organized by Marc’s mother to cover funeral expenses on GoFundMe. It stated:

“We are asking for help to cover funeral expenses so we can honor Marc Anthony, Jennifer and their baby with dignity and love they deserve. Any help no matter how small, will go directly toward giving them a proper farewell and supporting their families during this difficult time.

“Thank you for your love, prayers and support as we say goodbye to a beautiful family.”

Speaking of the suspect, Judson, he faces multiple charges apart from the three murder charges. They include fleeing police in a vehicle causing death, assault on a peace officer, and a firearm-related offense.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office stated that he is expected to appear at an arraignment hearing at the Pomona Courthouse on Monday.
