  • 2018-2024 FLHCS
  • 2018, 2023 FLHCS ANV

  • 2022 FXRST

The Harley-Davidson tire blowout recall

The NHTSA broke it down. Harley is worried about “a sudden loss of tire pressure.” The problem could affect motorcycles equipped with a rear shock absorber pre-load adjuster. “The mounting tab on the…adjuster may break, allowing the rear shock absorber adjuster to damage the rear tire.”

The kicker is that this isn’t the first time Harley has tried to fix this problem. Harley’s actually recalled some of these motorcycles and attempted to repair them. But its repair isn’t holding, so the manufacturer is trying something else.

This time around, Harley-Davidson dealerships are installing a new bracket for free. Curious if your Harley is affected by this latest recall? (Harley-Davidson recall 0188). You can call your local dealership with your VIN handy, or punch in your VIN at NHTSA.gov.
