You don’t have to go all the way to the top end of the 2022 Ram 1500 truck lineup to have the off-road capabilities you desire. You can find these things in the middle trim, called Ram 1500 Rebel. This truck gives you everything needed to tackle some tough trails and head out into the desert without adding the TRX package to the mix, although you can do this if you desire. The question here isn’t about the capability of this truck but rather a question of comfort.

Can you get comfortable in the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel?

The crew cab build of this truck brings us five comfortable seats with two buckets in the front and a bench in the rear. GearJunkie tells us this Ream is comfortable, easy to drive, and smooth on any road. This shouldn’t be a surprise, but it can be. Cloth seats are standard, but you can upgrade to leather and vinyl with one of the comfort packages offered.

Ram assumes you’re going to use this truck for some hardcore off-road experiences and gives you a set of rubber floor mats to handle the dirt and mess you’ll bring into the cabin. Overall, the cabin area provides a high level of comfort while delivering the ruggedness needed for a truck ready to take on the trails.

Clever storage for your adventures in this Ram truck

When you head out on a hiking trail, you don’t need to take your wallet or purse with you. A storage area under the seats gives you a good place to put these items and keep them out of sight of potential sticky fingers. Of course, if you want some specific storage options in the bed for your climbing gear, camping equipment, or tools, Ram has the solutions for you. Configure the bed of your Ram 1500 Rebel any way you like.

Which engine should you use for the Ram Rebel?

There are four different engines offered for this truck. That’s the fun of being a trim in the middle of a lineup. These engines include the Pentastar V6, diesel V6, Hemi V8, and Hellcat engines. The question is which one you should put under the hood of your truck.

If you follow the suggestion of CarBuzz, you’ll want to power your truck with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine with the eTorque mild-hybrid system. This engine gives you 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. This is a step up from the power you find in the Pentastar V6 engine, which means you’ll have more power for towing and off-road fun.

Why does the cabin air feel fresh in the Ram 1500?

For 2022, Ram added a system to keep the air cleaner in the cabin of this truck lineup. This means you’ve got a filter that takes out 95% of the air particulates, including pollen, allergens, and bacteria. Even if you’re susceptible to these items, you’ll breathe much easier when you’re in the cabin of this new Ram truck.

The upgraded tech you’ll love in this pickup truck

The first Ram 1500 to bring us the 12-inch tablet-style touchscreen to the market blew us away.  Now, it’s better than before. This system uses the latest Uconnect 5 system to give you the fastest menus and selections in the industry. RAM says this system is four times faster than the outgoing system, and it offers three times the memory. Make sure you select the Wi-Fi hotspot system as well, and you’ll enjoy the benefits of turning your truck into a mobile office during the week.

Should you drive the 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel?

Are you looking for a truck that can do it all? When you want a vehicle that can take you out on the trails that also works hard all week, the Ram 1500 Rebel is a truck that gives you what you need. You could find more comfort at higher trims, but those will cost more; you could find more off-road prowess with the TRX version, but that will also cost more. The Rebel trim seems to hit all the right notes to sing you a glorious song of performance and comfort in a half-ton truck.
