Get ready to hurry up and wait if you want a new Ford Bronco. Your time to place an order for a 2022 Ford Bronco model is running out. Sure, you may have to wait a few months for your Bronco to arrive, but the alternative is waiting for orders for the 2023 models to open.

According to AutoBlog, your time to place an order for the 2022 Ford Bronco is running out. You need to place an order with a dealer by March 7. Then the deadline for dealerships to turn in those orders is the following day.

Placing an order for a 2022 model is your best chance to have your Bronco manufactured and delivered this year. Otherwise, you can see if you stumble across a Bronco model at a dealership, but it may have a high markup.

High demand has caused Ford to reach the point of needing to end 2022 Bronco orders to fill them before starting production on 2023 Ford Bronco models. This will help Ford provide anyone with 2022 orders with their Bronco this year.

But due to the ongoing semiconductor chip shortage and other supply chain issues, your waiting time is subject to change.

How is Ford keeping production times on track?

To prevent delays and keep 2022 Ford Bronco production on track, Ford is no longer offering factory-installed paint protection film for all models except for the Wiltrak trim. But you can have the film installed at a local Ford dealership.

Ford suggests that you may get your order faster if you don’t opt for the hardtop or the tow package. This is because the tow package is in incredibly high demand and the hardtop still faces production constraints for the hardtops.

Dealerships can fit the tow hitch and a four-pin socket. However, if you need a seven-pin socket, it’s best to stick with the towing package. Also, when properly equipped, the Bronco can tow up to 3,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,370 lbs.

Orders for the Ford Bronco Raptor and Everglades open in March. However, the Everglades model is exclusive to those with unscheduled orders. Ford isn’t building any dealer stock for 2022.

Most of the Ford Bronco Raptor stock will probably go to leftover unscheduled order holders as well. Ford sent out emails to customers to gauge their interest in Raptor models.

When can you order a 2023 Bronco?

Ford hasn’t announced when you can order a 2023 Ford Bronco. We can speculate that the order books will open in the summer or fall. Orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick open in August.

The 2023 Bronco will probably be a carry-over model from the 2022 Ford Bronco. It’s still pretty much brand new and doesn’t need upgrades yet. However, we’re wondering when the Heritage Edition will make an appearance.

If you decide to wait, you may see how reliable the Bronco is based on issues that people may face with the 2021 and 2022 models. Some suggest never buying the first model year of a new vehicle.

Also, the refreshed 2023 Jeep Wrangler should emerge soon. It may be beefed up to provide more competition. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
