Arizona Nissan driver needs a $6k engine repair after getting the wrong gas from a local Circle K
Drivers visit gas station pumps all the time to fill up. Of course, most of these people are concerned with cheap gas prices, but recent news shows there’s more they need to worry about. Notably, there are instances where water somehow finds its way into gas, leading to expensive repairs with auto mechanics. Recently, Arizona drivers were faced with a different problem- they got the wrong gas.
The gas station pumps at this Circle K had diesel instead of regular fuel
According to AZ Family, many people in Phonix were recently in for a rude awakening after visiting gas station pumps at a local Circle K. Notably, some intended to get regular gas but drove away with diesel, and the opposite was true for others. One person who experienced issues was Nicole Marino. She told the outlet, “I turned the key, and it kind of started a little bit and then just stuttered and went out, and there was just smoke all over my garage.”
After noticing the problem following going to the gas station pumps, Nicole arranged to take her car to the auto mechanics at Avondale Nissan. According to her, “They called me, and they’re like, ‘Your tank is full of diesel.'” She went on, “I was like, ‘No way. I’m not [having] that kind of girl moment. That didn’t happen.’ But then when he asked if I’ve been to a Circle K, that’s when my gears started turning. Like how did he know?” Sadly, they told her the repairs would be in the ballpark of $6,125.85. She says she cannot afford this amount.
Nicole isn’t the only Arizona resident who has faced issues. There are reports that several drivers have gotten fuel from those gas station pumps and had expensive issues. Notably, Circle K confirmed that there was a mixup on February 9th and has since fixed the situation. Circle K now says that impacted drivers must go to the claims process for further steps.
