The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is one of the best midsize crossovers a family can buy right now, and it has plenty of options available. Though the standard Palisade is probably good enough for most consumers, some might want to go all-in on their new Hyundai SUV. Here’s a look at a fully loaded 2022 Hyundai Palisade and how much it costs.

How much is a fully loaded 2022 Hyundai Palisade?

According to Hyundai USA, the standard Palisade SE starts at about $33,000. Then there’s the SEL at $35,000, the Limited at $45,000, and, finally, the Calligraphy, which starts at around $47,000. Although the Calligraphy is the top trim, there are still plenty of available extras. The most expensive option for the Calligraphy trim is all-wheel drive, and getting it costs about $1,700.

On top of that, Hyundai offers a few packages and accessories, and they’ll add more to the Palisade’s price tag. For example, the Winter Package costs about $300, and the Cargo Package is another $200. Accessories such as a tow hitch run about $500, and carpeted floor mats are another $200.

Altogether, a fully loaded 2022 Hyundai Palisade costs just over $50,000.

Are the upgrades worth it?

Interestingly, at that price point, the Palisade actually becomes competitive with its luxury counterpart, the Genesis GV80. After all, the GV80 starts at about $49,000, and because Hyundai owns Genesis, the GV80 provides many of the same features as the Palisade. The big difference, of course, is that buyers can spend even more money on their GV80 to get a far more luxurious version of the SUV.

If that’s going too far, sticking with a fully loaded Palisade might be a fine option. A loaded Palisade is akin to a luxury SUV because it boasts many high-end features. For instance, its leather seating is heated and ventilated.

The fully loaded Palisade also boasts many high-tech features. For instance, it has a head-up display, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and a ton of smart safety features. However, though the priciest Palisade is luxurious, it isn’t sportier than the cheaper trims. After all, every Palisade has the same 3.8-liter V6 engine, and they all make 291 hp and get a combined 22 mpg fuel economy.

So for folks looking to get a luxurious SUV, a fully loaded Palisade might be worth it. But consumers expecting a more powerful version of the standard Palisade probably won’t think it’s worth it.

Which 2022 Hyundai Palisade trim level should you buy?

As with most things in life, the perfect trim level for you depends on your budget, situation, and tastes. One of the big differences among the Hyundai Palisade’s trims is the number of seats. The standard model has three rows seating eight people. However, every other trim has captain’s chairs in the second row, lowering the seating capacity to seven.

For families or groups of eight, the standard Palisade is the way to go. But for folks who need fewer seats, the other options are fine too. That said, the Palisade comes with many standard features as is, so consumers might not feel it’s worth it to upgrade only for luxury features. So the standard SE trim or the slightly higher-end SEL offers a good balance of features and affordability.
