I previously wrote that Ford’s F Series is the final full-size pickup truck lineup 100% assembled in the USA. From the half-ton F-150 through the heavy Super Duty, they are all assembled here. Well, no more. Ford’s announced that it’s assembling the 2026 Super Duty in three locations: Kentucky, Ohio, and now Oakville in Ontario, Canada.

Are there any full-size pickup trucks still assembled in the USA?

Many full-size trucks are assembled in the USA. Toyota build its half-ton Tundra in Texas. Ram assembles its fifth-gun 1500 in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM assembles many of its Silverado/Sierra 1500s in Indiana.

But many full-size trucks are assembled abroad. General Motors assembles some of its Silverado/Sierra 1500s in Mexico. Others come from Canada. Ram assembles every one of its heavy-duty trucks in Saltillo, Mexico. And Toyota offers no heavy-duty trucks. That’s why the only full-size truck, with a full half-ton to heavy-duty lineup still 100% assembled in the USA was Ford. Until 2026.

Where are Ford trucks assembled?

Ford assembles its F-150 at two locations: Dearborn, Michigan and Kansas City. The Ford Ranger hails from Wayne, Michigan. Every Ford Maverick is assembled in Mexico. The Super Duty is a huge lineup, with a range of plants. In 2025 it came from either Louisville, Kentucky or Avon Lake, Ohio. But in 2026 Ford will be building thousands of Super Duty trucks in Ontario, Canada.

Ford opened its Oakville, Ontario plant in 1953. In the past, it’s built the Edge SUV and the Lincoln Nautilus. When Ford began importing its Lincoln Nautilus from China it took the opportunity to retool Oakville. Rumor had it the Blue Oval would convert Oakville into an EV factory. But it recently reported that it would instead be building Super Duty trucks there. Oakville puts about 3,600 employees to work.
