The Ford Maverick hybrid pickup truck is groundbreaking. It will be one of the smallest pickup trucks that Ford has ever produced. It is also one of the few hybrid pickup trucks on the market.

The compact pickup truck is highly anticipated because it represents a new era for Ford along with the Ford F-150 Lightning. The blue oval brand is moving toward hybrid and electric powertrains. In fact, the company estimates to produce 30% of its new full-size trucks with electric powertrains by 2030.

The Ford Maverick is an excellent start to a greener Ford, and California is loving it. According to The Drive, the Ford Maverick received over 100,000 reservations in just a few months. The majority of reservations came from California. Why is California lovin’ the Maverick so much?

California, Florida, and Texas accounted for most of the 100,000 Ford Maverick pre-orders since its announcement. A large amount of those orders came from San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. The Bay Area and the City of Angels are showing strong support for the compact pickup truck because it is perfect for busy city life.

The 2022 Ford Maverick is 200-inches long, 73-inches wide, and 69-inches high. That’s about 17 ft long, 6 ft wide, and 6ft high. To put those numbers into perspective, that’s only about a foot taller and wider than the Honda Fit. It is about three feet longer than the Honda Fit.

LA and San Francisco are both huge crowded cities, so the 2022 Ford Maverick is effective in two ways. It can squeeze into parking spots that most pickup trucks can’t. The 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid model also has amazing fuel economy. It is projected to gets as much as 50 miles per gallon. The Maverick promises the reliability of a Ford truck for those long Cali highways combined with great fuel efficiency, all in a compact package that starts at $19,995, no wonder L.A. is going crazy for the Maverick.

Should you buy a 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid pickup truck?

The 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid model is easily one of the most exciting trucks Ford has produced in recent years. It’s much smaller and more affordable than most other Ford trucks. The Ford Ranger is a longer, taller, wider truck that’s almost $5000 more expensive than the upcoming Maverick.

The Ford Maverick will also come standard as a hybrid model, which is completely novel to its vehicle class. The Maverick is different, and California is feelin’ it. Looks like Ford’s affordable compact new pickup truck just created an entire new niche market.
