The 2022 Ford Maverick is the Blue Oval’s smallest modern pickup truck. It is also Ford’s first standard hybrid pickup truck. The Maverick is novel to the automotive industry in many ways and it seems like the tiny pickup truck still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. Apparently the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid can double as a backup generator like some of its other cousins.

The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid is more than meets the eye

The 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid doesn’t fit in with the rest of its vehicle segment… and that’s a good thing. The Maverick is shaking the truck vehicle class up by offering features and qualities that are tough for most other pickup trucks to compete with. For starters, the Maverick is tiny. Its small body allows it to easily fit into spaces that the average truck cannot. Its unibody design also provides a unique driving experience.

According to Motor1, Ford is considering adding Pro Power Onboard to the Maverick Hybrid. Other Ford models like the F-150 Lightning will also feature Pro Power Onboard. The system allows hybrid and electric vehicles to share power to tools, appliances, and even homes. The Maverick Hybrid may not be able to power an entire home for days the way the F-150 Lightning can, but the small pickup truck shouldn’t be underestimated.

It’s unclear how (or when) the Blue Oval is planning on giving the Maverick Hybrid this upgrade, but if the automaker does include the feature, the small pickup will pack some serious value. The Maverick Hybrid already offers consumers great value in terms of its 37-mile per gallon combined fuel economy. What else does the tiny truck offer consumers?

The Ford Flexbed features pre-threaded holes as well as slots to help consumers make adjustments. It comes with several tie-downs as well. The Flexbed can be customized to transport furniture, a bicycle, and many more items.
