Ford is known for its mass appeal vehicles, but the automaker also knows how to make a cheap and reliable pickup truck. For 2022, the Ford F-150, Ford Ranger, and Ford Maverick are everywhere you look, but for good reason. Check out some of the positive reviews from Consumer Reports, Kelley Blue Book, and Edmunds.

You can’t have Ford trucks without the Ford F-150 pickup

Ford trucks don’t all fit in one box. The 2022 Ford F-150 is one of the more customizable options out there for this year. When looking at the review from Kelley Blue Book, the pros outweigh the cons. The 2022 F-150 has some of the best towing (12,400 pounds) and payload (1,745 pounds) numbers in the lineup. The payload can also be amped up with higher trim levels and additional features.

Ford offers a variety of engine types, including a hybrid option. The F-150 comes with trim levels that focus on off-roading, higher-end luxury options, and even an onboard generator. Of course, the price for this Ford truck goes up as the features add on, but it starts at a reasonable $30,000. The highly-anticipated Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck also hits the market sometime this year.

Price range: $29,990 – $77,760

The new Ford Ranger is affordable and reccomended by Consumer Reports

The 2022 Ford Ranger is back and better than ever for this year. Based on the review from Consumer Reports, this Ford truck is ready to deliver. The Ranger came in second on the list of compact pickup trucks, too. Consumer Reports gave it a four out of five for predicted reliability, which is still above average.

The 2022 Ford Ranger doesn’t tow as much as the F-150, but it gets the job done. It also starts at only $25,500, leaving plenty of wiggle room for more features and upgrades. Unfortunately, it only comes with one engine option for this year. But the Ranger Tremor off-road trim is highly capable and worth the wait.

Price range: $25,500 – $39,465

The brand new Ford Maverick is one of the most anticipated new Ford trucks

If you are looking for a brand new Ford truck, look no further than the 2022 Ford Maverick. Billed as a small or compact pickup truck, Edmunds says the Maverick is meant to have the best parts of an SUV but with the capability of a truck. The Maverick has four doors and room for five people, but the best part is the price. The Ford Maverick starts at under $20,000, making it one of the most affordable new trucks out there.

The Ford truck comes in three trim levels and seven colors. The XLT trim jumps to around $24,000, while the Lariat is just over $27,000. Still, under $30,000 for the top trim level is still pretty reasonable.

Price range: $19,995 – $25,860

With so many trim levels, engine types, body styles, and different Ford trucks to choose from, this brand has it all. Be sure to check out the safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), too.
