Ford F-150 Raptor Owner Uses Facebook Marketplace to Retrieve Truck After Driveway Theft in Ohio

The owner of a custom-built 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor searched for his truck on Facebook Marketplace after it was stolen from his driveway in Cincinnati, Ohio. He eventually retrieved the vehicle after working closely with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a report by WLWT5, Blake Hensley, the owner of Upscale Auto Sales, woke up one morning and found his Ford Raptor missing from his driveway.

Security footage showed thieves driving it away. Instead of going directly to the police, Hensley thought of checking Facebook Marketplace for his truck in case the custom parts on it were offered for sale.

“This is a 2023 Ford Raptor. It’s got the special 37-inch package. I did a custom build on the truck, the custom wheels. The custom tires.”

Ford F-150 Raptor Recovered With Help From The Police

After an extensive search online, Hensley finally found a listing of his custom wheels that were up for sale, which he identified through a serial number. He then posed as a buyer and connected with the seller in the hope that this would lead him to his Ford Raptor.

Fortunately for him, a meeting was set up with the ‘seller.’ Hensley then involved the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a sting operation to catch the thieves.

At the meeting, the police intercepted the deal and nabbed the suspects selling the wheels, who then led Hensley to his truck. The happy Ford Raptor owner said:

“I set up a sting operation, working very closely with Montgomery County Sheriff. They intercepted the deal and caught the suspect with my wheels, which led to the recovery of the truck.”

However, no arrests have been made so far as investigating officers work on the case. As for Hensley, he got back his Ford F-150 Raptor, but he incurred several expenses, such as costs for towing, repairs, storage, and impound fees.

MotorBiscuit recently reported on how the Ford F-150’s popularity made it one of the most stolen vehicles in 2025. Ruling the American market for nearly four decades, the F-Series shares parts with various models, which thieves find most valuable because it means these trucks can be stolen and used for parts on other vehicles.

According to data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the F-150 is the seventh most-stolen vehicle in America, with 10,102 units stolen last year, less than half that of the Hyundai Elantra, which topped the list of ten most-stolen vehicles in America, at 21,732 units.
