Did you know that the Ford F-150 is a star? This truck actually has a pretty haunting film career. The Ford F-150 is featured in more horror movies than any other vehicle, making it the spookiest truck.

Maybe, we can’t say if every Ford F-150 model is haunted, but a few might be. If you’re into the spooky season, then you might be watching scary movies to prepare for Halloween. Keep an eye out for the F-150 during your favorite films.

We have to give a shout-out to Bristol Street Motors for putting a list of the spookiest vehicles together based on horror film appearances. Now the F-150 can brag about being the number one truck for the longest period of time and the spookiest.

How popular is the F-150?

The Ford F-150 made 13 appearances across the films that rank on the list of Empire Online’s 50 Best Horror Films. Bristol Street Motors noted over 700 vehicles while watching these films, so the F-150 is quite popular.

You may have noticed that Brandis drives an F-150 at the beginning of Stephen Kind’s Maximum Overdrive. Other top horror films include The Exorcist, The Omen, Day Of The Dead, and A Quiet Place.

There are other popular truck models in scary movies. For example, the Chevrolet C/K made eight appearances in spooky films. It landed in 4th place on the list of the 10 most popular spooky rides.

We aren’t sure if Twilight is precisely scary, but the C/K is Bella’s beloved old truck. It can be recognized in films with a little more horror street cred like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergeist.

While the Ford F-150 is a popular truck to use in films that involve ghosts, demons, ghouls, and more, it can’t take all the credit. Tons of Ford models are frequently used in scary movies. Ford vehicles account for 113 of the vehicles seen in the top 50 horror films.

Have you seen Death Proof? Kurt Russell is the star, and he uses the Ford Mustang to murder victims in staged accidents. The Mustang may be hard to recognize in that film as a stunt car, but it might make you think about it a little differently!

The Ford Club Wagon makes an appearance in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It may look like an innocent van that’s perfect for road trips, but it’s basically used as a hearse in the film. The Club Wagon pulls into a gas station owned by a cannibalistic cult, and the friends are slowly picked off.

Other popular horror film models include the Ford Custom, LTD Country Squire, Ford Escort, Crown Victoria, and Ford Transit. The Ford Crown Victoria served as a popular police vehicle in horror films.

If you see a Ford vehicle on Halloween, you probably don’t have to be worried. The chances are that a serial killer or zombie isn’t driving it. But the chances might not be 0 percent. While guys like Jason and Freddy Kreuger like to walk, Michel Myers recently drove a classic Ford Bronco in Halloween Kills.
