When Ford slapped the legendary Capri nameplate onto an all-electric family crossover, it certainly raised a few eyebrows among automotive purists. However, the Blue Oval is officially doubling down on its electric sports coupe with a fresh wave of updates designed to make it faster, more efficient, and significantly more practical for everyday drivers.
Ford recently announced an improved version of the electric Capri, introducing a limited-edition Capri Collection alongside a heavily upgraded Standard Range model. From a brand-new battery chemistry to trick new driver-assist features, the latest iteration of the Capri aims to retain the soul of the classic sports car in the shape of a modern EV.
The Capri Collection: A Nod to Heritage
The crown jewel of this update is the Capri Collection. This limited-series model leans heavily into the nameplate, drawing direct visual inspiration from historic Capri racing cars and cult-classic road models.

On the outside, the Capri Collection demands attention with an exclusive Tribute Blue paint job and an aggressive aerodynamic kit featuring deeper front and rear valances, side skirts, and a rear spoiler – all finished in black. It rides on massive 21-inch machine-faced alloy wheels to create the most assertive stance yet.
Inside, the cabin features a Black Onyx theme with distinctive blue speckle effects and vertical seat stripes that mirror the exterior design, serving as a subtle nod to the model’s motorsport roots.
By the Numbers: The Improved Ford Capri Standard Range
The most significant mechanical changes happen underneath the sheet metal. The Capri Standard Range models are receiving a major performance bump thanks to a new Lithium Iron Phosphate battery and an upgraded electric motor. Here is how the new specs break down:
- Powertrain: An u[graded electric motor powered by a new, resource-efficient LFP battery pack.
- Total System Output: 140 kW (190 PS / roughly 187 horsepower).
- Torque: 350 Nm (roughly 258 lb-ft).
- 0–100 km/h (0–62 MPH): A brisk 8.0 seconds.
- Estimated Range: Up to 463 km (roughly 287 miles) on a single charge – a massive 17% increase over the previous setup, giving drivers far more freedom between plug-ins.

Tech That Actually Makes Life Easier
There’s more to it than just performance. Ford is packing the new Capri with clever technology. One of the standout additions is the “Pro Power Onboard” system, a fan-favorite feature initially introduced on Ford’s commercial vehicles and the F-150 Lightning. It turns the Capri into a rolling power bank, allowing drivers to power up to 2.3 kW of accessories – like laptops, e-bikes, or camping gear – using an outlet in the trunk or an adapter plugged directly into the charge port.
The automaker is also rolling out a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. The upgraded Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control now reads traffic lights to automatically slow or stop the vehicle, while the new Trained Park Assist can memorize your parking routine and perfectly replicate the steering, braking, and acceleration for up to 50 meters.

Inside, the massive 14.6-inch SYNC Move touchscreen has been revamped with fresh Android-based software for smoother operation, expanded navigation views, and customizable app folders that function just like a smartphone. The new enhanced Capri range, including the limited Capri Collection, is officially available to order in Europe starting today.
