It’s no secret, the Ford Maverick has been one of the hottest pickup trucks on the market. But, that popularity does come at a cost. Apparently, some hybrid orders of Ford’s small truck are being canceled. These order cancellations come as the Blue Oval struggles to keep up with demand for the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid pickup. And understandably, consumers are becoming frustrated.

Is Ford canceling Maverick orders?

Because Ford is unable to keep up with the number of truck orders, some 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid orders are being canceled. Supply chain issues are still having a heavy impact on the automotive industry, and Ford is not immune to that. So, it is possible that your 2022 Maverick order has been pushed back.

According to Ford Authority, the Blue Oval is working to transfer these canceled orders to the 2023 model. But, it’s unclear how that will work. The 2023 version of Ford’s small truck is just as popular as the 2022 model. So, it’s not like there is a surplus of this compact pickup available.

What’s going on with my Ford Maverick order?

It seems one of the biggest issues facing Maverick orders is the kind of communication buyers are getting. If you look at the forums, you will see plenty of people complaining that they simply don’t know what’s going on with their order of Ford’s small truck. In 2022, we understand we might have to wait for some things. Oftentimes, longer than we would like. But, things would be easier if Ford let people know where they are standing in line.

That said, maybe the reason Ford is being vague with the Maverick is that things are changing so quickly. If the Blue Oval knows this, it might not be worth sending out constant updates. Although, it might be worth it just to give consumers peace of mind.

It is always an option to contact the dealership where you placed your order. But it is entirely possible that they have the same amount of information that you do. The Maverick is not the only Ford product that is facing cancelation problems. The 2022 Ford Escape and Ford Transit Connect have had the same issue. So, it’s not just this small truck that is facing the current supply chain.

What’s new for the 2023 Ford Maverick?

Although the Maverick just came out, there are some changes for 2023, including a Tremor package. Another change is a price increase across the board. If your 2022 Maverick is canceled, Ford has stated it will enact price and incentive protection. Of course, orders for the 2023 Maverick were closed about a week after they opened. So, you might have difficulty buying one right now.

Another notable change is that the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine is no longer an additional charge. So, if you do not want a hybrid truck, you can opt for more power without having to pay extra. We can only hope that Ford is able to reopen orders at some point. That way, more people can experience this small truck.
