We know what you’re thinking. The 2022 Ford Maverick is much more affordable than the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The Maverick starts at about $20,000, while the Bronco Sport begins at around $27,415.

But the Maverick is totally sold out for 2022 unless you magically find one at a dealership. So, while paying an extra $7,415 to get started with a vehicle is a lot, it will help you skip months of waiting time.

Also, the entry-level Maverick has a hybrid engine that can’t be paired with the towing package. According to the Driving Line, the Maverick is positioned as a work truck, so you’ll have to pay more for comfort amenities. A fully loaded Bronco Sport is about $40,000, while a fully loaded Maverick is around $36,000.

Does the Maverick or Bronco Sport have a better performance?

The 2022 Ford Maverick and 2022 Ford Bronco Sport both share the C2 platform with the Ford Escape. Also, the Maverick and Bronco Sport both have the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 250 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque.

With the Bronco Sport, you get a standard 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with 181 hp and 190 lb-ft of torque. The Maverick comes with a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain with 194 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque.

The Maverick can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.4 seconds, while the Bronco Sport can reach 60 mph in about 7.2 seconds. This difference may be challenging to notice.

When properly equipped, the Bronco Sport can tow up to 2,200 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,163 lbs. Without the towing package, the Maverick can tow up to 2,000 lbs. It has a maximum towing capacity of 4,000 lbs and can carry a payload of up to 1,500 lbs.

While the Maverick has an available FX4 package, it won’t keep up with the Bronco Sport while off-roading. The Bronco Sport has a better suspension and off-roading modes for tackling the wild.

Does the Maverick or Bronco Sport have better features?

The 2022 Ford Maverick has a truck bed, allowing you to throw your gear in. But the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport has a durable, rubber-lined cargo space to protect the interior from mud and moisture.

If you need more space in the Bronco Sport, the second-row seats nearly fold flat. Also, the back seat in the Maverick lifts up as a single unit while the Bronco Sport flips up in two different sections.

There are innovative storage solutions in the Maverick for storing smaller items, but the Bronco Sport has more space overall. It’s a class leader in terms of cargo space. The Bronco Sport also offers more driver and passenger space.

Both vehicles are similar in terms of tech with an 8.0-inch infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. You can opt for a wireless charger and upgrade to the Bang & Olufsen audio system.

The Maverick is cheaper and can tow more, but the Bronco Sport offers more space and enhanced off-roading capabilities. Do you want a basic truck or a slightly more comfortable off-roader?
