Feast your eyes upon the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor. Finally, the wait to see this new beast is over! However, not everyone is happy about the new Ford Bronco Raptor. There’s just one feature that the Ford design team may not have spent enough time with.

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor has ugly fender flares

Fans are upset with the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor fender flares. It’s a little subjective. Some people may like the way they look. However, we’ve primarily seen aggressive reactions to them in forums.

In the Bronco6g forum, fans are calling the fender flares hideous. They claim that they look like the plastic on the Subaru Crosstrek and Outback. The flares are getting a hard pass and hard no responses because they’re massive and bulging in an unattractive manner.

Hopefully, the fender flares are interchangeable with the ones on the regular Bronco. Also, if they can be painted to match the Bronco’s body, they don’t look as awkward. But on a positive note, maybe you can use them to create a shady spot on hot summer days.

The Bronco Raptor’s fender flares are necessary

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is broad and robust. The innertube-style fender flares are mounted over the top of the fenders instead of under them. This is a unique style that differs from other factory options.

However, the size is necessary for providing maxim coverage for the massive 37-inch BF Goodrich K02 tires. We had the Ford Bronco Sasquatch with 35-inch tires are were impressed with the cover provided by the regular flares, though.

Most Bronco models have a 65-inch wide track, but the Wildtrack is almost an inch wider on each side with a 66.9-inch track. The Bronco Raptor is has a 73.2-inch wide track in the front and is 73.6 inches wide in the rear. So, it’s 8.6 inches wider. The overall width of the Bronco Raptor is 85.7 inches, while the Hummer is 86.7 inches wide.

So, the new design starts with boxed flares on the body and transitions into a regular flare for a few inches before the angle changes, and they stretch out further before ending with a chamfer. They match the beefier proportions of the Raptor.

However, some people aren’t happy with how the new form and function potentially takes away from the Bronco’s attractive looks.

Can you replace the Bronco Raptor’s fender flares?

According to Car and Driver, the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor has rear fenders with replaceable front sections because Ford discovered that they will get damaged by flying debris during development. So, at least you can change the front of the flares.

Luckily, these massive fender flares don’t have to be a deal-breaker. Like many other parts of the Bronco, they are removable, allowing you to add custom, after-market equipment. You can replace them with bigger or smaller options. You can also remove them altogether.

Just like the roof, doors, and more, the fender flares are easy to remove. You don’t have to be stuck with the massive factory option for long. Ford is pretty good about listening to what fans want, so perhaps the 2023 Bronco Raptor will have a more attractive look.
