Senseless Florida road rage crime ends with 11 gunshots and 1 death
A bystander video captured the moment a Florida pickup truck driver experienced the extremes of road rage at an intersection. The hot-headed driver fired 11 shots into a nearby SUV. Tragically, the crime resulted in critical injuries and a fatality.
A Panama City road rage incident spun out of control after a RAM pickup truck fired a deadly volley of bullets at an SUV
Unfortunately, road rage is a common event on American streets. Drivers can’t keep their cool, and resort to desperately childish, even dangerous behaviors to “get even.” It’s even more tragic when incidents involve deadly force, like a recent case in Panama City, Florida.
A shocking viral video shows a gray RAM pickup truck behind a red GMC Terrain SUV at an intersection near Highway 231. In the video, viewers can see 23-year-old Jubal Simmons arguing with one of the GMC Terrain’s occupants before both parties return to their vehicles.
According to Captain Chris Nicole of the Panama City Investigative Services Section, one of the people in the GMC Terrain approached the vehicle and “struck” Encino. Moments after the altercation, 21-year-old Ivybella Encino pulled the gray pickup truck alongside the red Terrain.
Simmons fired 11 shots at the GMC SUV, striking both 48-year-old Georgeann Garner and 19-year-old Marleigh Lewis. The red SUV stopped immediately after the violent road rage crime and the gray pickup truck sped away.
First responders arrived to treat and transport the wounded occupants in the GMC. However, Garner died after reaching a nearby hospital. As of this writing, Lewis is in critical condition.
The gunman is facing homicide and ‘altering evidence’ charges
Fortunately, Simmons and Encino didn’t make it very far. Encino, the RAM truck’s driver, is facing fleeing police charges, as well as “disregard of safety to persons and property.” However, police also charged Encino with aggravated battery on an officer, suggesting some violent altercation during her initial detention.
As for Simmons, the 23-year-old is facing first-degree premeditated homicide charges, although only one occupant of the GMC is deceased. What’s more, Simmons is looking at “altering evidence” charges. However, Panama City authorities haven’t commented on the altering evidence charge.
