This is an amusing story of life imitating art—or perhaps just a self-fulfilling prophecy. Eighteen-year-old Jimmie Glover was driving home from a Thursday night party when the Port St. Lucie Police Department pulled him over on suspicion of drunk driving. When officers asked him to get out of the car, they must have had a laugh: His costume for the night was a prison inmate.

The department later wrote, “First arrest of the holiday came this morning as 18-year-old Jimmie Glover was arrested for DUI after leaving a Halloween party and decided to get behind the wheel intoxicated!”

There’s no word on whether the department made Glover change before booking him into jail.

Officers couldn’t resist the irony

The department posted a video of Glover failing the field sobriety test and couldn’t help poking fun at the costume. “Anyone dressed up as a cop should pull a shift with us…. rookies start midnight shift at 10 p.m.… just kidding, enjoy the holiday PSL!”
