It’s not exactly the story of Bonnie and Clyde, but this Florida duo still landed on the wrong side of the law. Amanda Cooper, 45, was driving in Lutz, Florida, along with 35-year-old Martin George. Then the police arrived and uncovered a lot more crime than just refusing to stick around for a traffic stop.

It started with a refusal to stop for Florida police officers, and ended with 50 grams of fentanyl, ketamine, and other drugs

According to a social media post by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), the car failed to stop near the intersection of Spring Green Drive and Livingston Avenue in Lutz. The HCSO says the duo had active arrest warrants for parole violations. When the police eventually stopped Cooper and her passenger, they searched the car.

That’s when they found it: a stash of drugs, some marked “For Sale.” Among the illicit substances, police discovered more than 50 grams of fentanyl, ketamine, and related drug paraphernalia.

It’s a serious crime to transport fentanyl. It doesn’t take much to produce a lethal dose of the synthetic opioid. And while most illegal operations ship fentanyl by the kilogram, 50 grams of the stuff is enough to produce around 25,000 lethal doses, per the DEA.

As for Cooper and George, the two are facing charges for their parole violations, as well as drug trafficking and fleeing the police. Needless to say, the consequences for trafficking on this scale are dire.

According to the 2025 Florida Statute, trafficking over 28 grams of fentanyl carries a “mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of 25 years,” as well as a $500,000 fine. Yikes. Check out a video of the arrest and drug bust below!
