Do people buy the most recommended version of the 2022 Ford Bronco? One trim level is more popular than all the others. Every version of the Ford off-road SUV is a viable option, but some are better than others. According to a few experts, the best Bronco trim level is not the most popular. Experts don’t recommend the most popular 2022 Ford Bronco trim.

According to Edmunds, the most popular 2022 Ford Bronco trim is the Black Diamond version. Out of eight available options, the cheapest one is usually the one most people buy. In its most affordable form, the Bronco Base model costs $32,395. However, the most popular Black Diamond trim is two notches up, which starts at $39,545. Why are people choosing this trim over more affordable options?

Choosing the most popular 2022 Bronco gets customers a wide variety of equipment. Items like heavy-duty bumpers, skid plates, a black grille, rock rails, 17-inch black-painted steel wheels, prewired auxiliary switches, vinyl upholstery, rubber flooring, and a seven-mode all-terrain system are included.

Although cheaper versions are well-equipped, the Black Diamond trim is popular for its ample off-roading features and capability. However, according to experts, other trim levels are better options.

The best 2022 Ford Bronco trim, according to experts

Experts don’t unanimously agree on which Bronco trim level is the best. Firstly, Edmunds likes the Bronco Big Bend, which is one tier lower than the most popular Black Diamond, starting at $36,880.

Moreover, the publication likes that it gains interior upgrades from the base model and the multi-terrain management system. Two optional packages, Mid and Sasquatch, unlock for the Big Bend trim, which Edmunds thinks is worth the extra cash.

Next, Car and Driver has a very different opinion. C/D recommends the 2022 Bronco Wildtrak, only one notch below the fully loaded Everglades trim. For $51,375 with fees, C/D likes that it’s a four-door model with a more powerful engine and plenty of off-road hardware.

In addition, the experts noted that it comes with 17-inch Beadlock-capable wheels and expansive 35-inch mud-terrain tires. In short, C/D is all about off-road capability, and if you’re buying a Bronco, you should be too.

Is the 2022 Bronco Everglades worth it?

Choosing the Everglades trim will cost you $54,595. That’s quite a jump from C/D’s recommended Wildtrak trim and even more from the most popular Black Diamond and Edmunds’ favorite Big Bend. With the range-topping Everglades, customers get LED headlights, unique exterior graphics, unique front and rear fenders, a heavy-duty front bumper, a winch by Warn, an air snorkel, vinyl upholstery, a 12-inch touchscreen, and some parts of the Mid and Sasquatch packages.

Are those features valuable enough for you to pay roughly $4,000 or $15,000 more than the two experts’ recommended models?

We don’t think so, and neither does Edmunds or Car and Driver. Overall, it’s not very likely you’re too worried about an air snorkel or a bigger touchscreen. Most of the essential off-road features are available in lower trims, as are the optional packages.

We agree with Edmunds that the Big Bend trim offers the most bang for your buck. However, if you can spend the extra cash, C/D’s recommendation is luxurious and off-road ready.

In conclusion, the best 2022 Ford Bronco trim is the Big Bend model. However, the most popular version of the off-road SUV is the Black Diamond trim. While the Black Diamond trim adds some excellent features, the Big Bend model offers nearly as much at a lower price.

With standard features like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, choosing the proper trim depends on your personal needs. Finding a suitable model can be challenging, and experts don’t always agree on which is best. For affordability, it’s the Bronco Big Bend; for off-roading in luxury, it’s the Wildtrak model, but not the most popular Black Diamond.
