Moreover, Edmunds thinks the LT is the trim to buy because it provides “the optimal balance of price to features.” This is evident in the $48,995 starting price, along with the heated front seats, heated leather steering wheel, power-adjustable driver’s seat, 13.4-inch infotainment screen, and more.

Contrarily, C/D likes the same LT trim but with even more additions. It says buyers should consider adding the 5.3-liter V8 over the optional diesel engine, allowing you to select the Z71 Off-Road package. If you’re interested in taking your Silverado off-roading, this is the cheapest way to get there. Additionally, C/D says the best configuration is a crew cab with a standard length bed for maximum passenger and cargo space.

Two prominent experts agree the 2022 Chevy Silverado LT is the best trim to buy. Although C/D recommends adding a few optional upgrades, Edmunds agrees the LT provides the most bang for your buck. Upper trim levels also get very expensive, despite the additional features. For example, the luxurious High Country model starts at $60,695, over $10,000 more than the LT model.

In conclusion, most people buy the Silverado Custom trim level. It’s an excellent choice for those needing an affordable truck for work purposes. It has everything the base model features, plus even more basic essentials, like power locks and windows. It’s the most popular trim because it’s affordable with everything a person towing or hauling might need. However, with a little more room in the budget, the 2022 Chevy Silverado LT is the best trim to buy.
