The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars on the market. For eight decades, it’s provided a rear-engine thrill with impressive dynamics and design for drivers. The latest generation – the 992 – debuted for the 2019 model year. This month, Porsche revealed the newest sports car in the 911 lineup debuting for the 2023 model year: the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. How much does a fully loaded Porsche 911 GT3 RS cost?
For context, Porsche puts the starting MSRP for the base 911, the Carrera, at $106,100. The 911 GT3 takes things up a few notches in power and features with a starting price of $169,700. However, the 911 GT3 RS goes even further with a starting MSRP of $223,800. With the most expensive options equipped and a custom color added, the 911 GT3 RS will cost you $329,358.
911 GT3 RS performance specifications
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with a 4.0-liter flat six-cylinder engine that produces 518 horsepower and 342 lb-ft of torque. Porsche says it will go 0 to 60 mph in three seconds and reach a top track speed of 184 mph.
The engine in the back of the 911 GT3 RS isn’t the most powerful car the company offers. Porsche states the 911 Turbo S generates 640 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque from its 3.7-liter flat six-cylinder engine. However, the 911 GT3 RS produces 901 lbs of downforce at 124 mph. That’s twice as much as the last GT3 RS from the previous generation. Additionally, a drag-reduction system is included for the first time in the 911’s history. The seven-speed PDK automatic gearbox is standard on all models.
All of this power and downforce comes in a car that weighs 86 lbs less than the base Carrera. Much of the car uses carbon fiber reinforced plastic to slim down to a curb weight of 3,268 lbs, according to Motor1. For context, that’s less than a new Toyota Camry.
911 GT3 RS standard and optional features
The standard Porsche 911 GT3 RS comes with features to maximize performance. According to Motor1, there are three drive modes to choose from: Normal, Sport, and Track. Track mode gives you the option to customize settings like the rear differential. New camshafts with cam profiles help get the GT3 RS to 518 horsepower.
The Weissach Package can lower the weight by another 33 lbs but at a $33,520 price tag. Choosing a special color for your 911 GT3 RS costs another $4,020. An upgraded set of aluminum wheels costs $3,080 – and another $600 if you’d like the rims painted a different color.
Porsche’s ceramic composite brakes with high gloss black calipers and a front-axle lift system add another $13,780. LED-Matrix design headlights and the Porsche Dynamic System Plus costs $4,010. Inside, the leather/Race-Tex interior in black with Guards Red stitching will cost an extra $4,730. A 3D-printed Bodyform bucket driver’s seat costs an extra $3,380.
These options push the Porsche 911 GT3 RS past many supercars and grand tourers. It’s designed to be incredible to drive on the track in the way that best suits you.
How soon will the Porsche 911 GT3 RS be available?
The newest track star of the Porsche 911 lineup was unveiled at Monterey Car Week in August. Porsche expects it will arrive in the U.S. for dealers by next spring. When it does, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be the most expensive 911 model on the market.
