Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Danica Patrick, known to have differing views from fans on various subjects to the point where they become controversial, is not included in the Sky Sports F1 list of broadcasters for the 2026 Formula One season.
Patrick presented for Sky F1 during races held in the United States and Canada. However, among the confirmed broadcasters for this year – David Croft, Simon Lazenby, Natalie Pinkham, Ted Kravitz, Rachel Brookes, and Craig Slater – Patrick isn’t included.
Did Sky F1 drop her, or did she choose to part ways with her reporting duties? The reason behind her absence is unclear at this moment, but this has brought up some of her controversial moments from the past. A notable example dates back to the United States Grand Prix in Austin last year, where her analysis confused co-presenter and former driver Jenson Button on live TV.
During the race at the Circuit of the Americas, Carlos Sainz tried to pass Kimi Antonelli on Turn 15, a common spot for overtakes. However, the pair made contact, leading Sainz to retire while Antonelli finished thirteenth. When Patrick was asked for her opinion during the post-race analysis, her answer disappointed fans, prompting many to even demand her sacking on social media. She said:
“Not the best spot to go, you know, like when you make a move in an unusual place, then you get unusual results, kind of like a turn one sprint, right?
“You make an unusual move and get unusual results. So I don’t know.”

Not only F1, but also her stance on certain political matters has also led fans on social media to demand her resignation. She has been vocal about several matters and conspiracy theories on podcasts. In March 2025, she tweeted about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on X, which didn’t go down very well with people. She wrote:
“I just can’t take Zelenskyy seriously in that track suit.
“174B later and still no suit….. or respect.”

In another instance, while presenting live for Sky F1 during a race weekend, Patrick told a young female F1 fan, who dreamed of joining the sport someday, that the championship is “masculine.”
“I think that the nature of the sport is masculine. It’s aggressive,” she said.
“You have to, you know, handle the car – not only just the car because that’s skill, but the mindset that it takes to be really good is something that’s not normal in a feminine mind, a female mind.”
