There are few Jeep Wrangler complaints that sort of miss the entire point of getting a Wrangler. So, we would like to remind potential drivers that the Jeep Wrangler is designed for off-road fun, not to rule the pavement.

Jeep Wranglers Are For Off-Roading

Some of the most popular Jeep Wrangler complaints are about how it isn’t the best for daily driving.

However, the Jeep Wrangler isn’t designed to be a luxurious vehicle to drive around town. Instead, it’s designed to trudge through trenches, crawl over rocks, splash through streams, and much more.

While some people complain about the Wrangler not being well suited for regular commutes, those same aspects are part of the fun that attracts Jeep enthusiasts.

The Jeep Wrangler Is Too Loud

The Jeep Wrangler is notorious for having a loud cabin, especially while going at highway speeds.

However, this design is a little on purpose. The wind hits the Jeep Wrangler’s boxy frame and gets louder because the Wrangler doesn’t have an aerodynamic design.

You can’t just take away the Wrangler’s iconic look that Jeepers love. However, the Cherokee has a quieter design.

Plus, the Jeep Wrangler is lightweight and designed to go with it’s top off. Noise-canceling materials would make the process heavier and more difficult.

But we do have a tip for you to reduce noise. Go with a hard top Jeep instead of a soft-top one. It will be harder to take the top off, but your ride will be quieter.

The Jeep Wrangler Is A Gas Guzzler

Yes, the Jeep Wrangler has a poor fuel economy. It loves to drink all the fuel that it can. But larger trucks and SUVs also have poor fuel economies.

You most likely don’t care about the weak fuel economy if you have a truck or Jeep Wrangler. You’re getting these items to haul items or to go off-roading.

Therefore you need the amount of power it takes to crawl over obstacles. Plus, their boxy frames are not aerodynamic, and they’re heavy.

Meaning they burn more gas to go down the highway. Also, larger tires that people like their Jeeps to sit on make the fuel economy even worse.

Jeep Wranglers Aren’t Safe

While it’s true, the Jeep Wrangler does score pretty low with standard safety tests. But they were introduced to climb over obstacles in war.

The initial design didn’t support taking curves too fast, so they can flip over a bit easier than other vehicles.

But this has been the case for decades, and the Jeep isn’t even the most dangerous boxy vehicle. The Ford Bronco II is notorious for being extremely dangerous and often flipping.

Also, the Jeep Wrangler doesn’t have airbags on the sides, like other vehicles do. But this is because the doors are often removed. You can’t go without the doors if a complicated airbag system is built-in.

Plus, one of the main reasons Jeep Wranglers scored lower than other vehicles is because of their LED and halogen headlights.

The Wrangler scored a superior safety rating for its forward collision prevention system. It also scored good ratings for front passenger and driver overlap during collisions.
