Everyone knows that no good comes from driving while under the influence. This action causes numerous fatal car wrecks each year, as well as other forms of destruction. Recently, a judge found Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger guilty of a DUI charge. She has now been sentenced to two years for the crime. However, she’s not the only reality TV celebrity with a DUI. 

Karen Huger has made a habit of driving while under the influence

Karen Huger has been a fixture on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac since 2016. Since then, she has earned the moniker of “The Grand Dame” from fans. Sadly, on the night of March 19th, 2024, the reality star was found to be driving while under the influence. Notably, she crashed and totaled her Maserati while driving home from a night out, leading to a DUI charge, among other citations. 

Months passed after Karen’s instance of driving while under the influence, and she returned to filming the show. Finally, a judge found her guilty of seven counts related to the incident in December. According to PEOPLE, the RHOP star faced her sentencing on February 26th and now has two years in jail, with one being suspended. In other words, she will be behind bars for a year. Leading up to the sentence, investigators discovered that this was her fourth DUI-related charge, which is why she has so much time behind bars. Before this, it was understood that it wasn’t Karen’s first brush with drinking and driving.

Still, Karen isn’t the first reality TV celebrity who has instances of driving while under the influence. There are several others, and like everyone who gets behind the wheel after drinking, we’re sure they regret it. 

Shannon Beador is another reality TV celebrity with a DUI

Shannon Beador is one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Orange County. In 2023, she ended up driving while under the influence and sadly crashed into one of her neighbor’s property. Following this, she exited the vehicle and pretended to have been walking her dog, Archie. A judge later sentenced her to three years of probation and community service. Shannon took full accountability for the DUI charge and even documented part of her punishment on episodes of RHOC. 

Ariana Biermann was also found to be driving while under the influence

Fans first became aware of Ariana Biermann on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, where her mother, Kim Zolciak, was an official cast member. She was involved in a minor fender bender in August of 2022 after driving while under the influence of alcohol. The reality TV star also admitted to having used THC before getting behind the wheel. 

PK Kemsley is another celebrity who faced a DUI

Paul PK Kemsley is the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley. Because of this, he has also become a staple on the show despite them currently being separated. Regarding his instance of driving while under the influence, he was arrested in 2021 for suspicion, but no charges were ever filed. 

Driving while under the influence is no laughing matter. As mentioned, it causes numerous car wrecks each year and is a massive obstruction to public safety. It’s always best to call a rideshare or have a designated driver on hand.
