Driveway Sealcoating Pro Filming ASMR Records Impatient Homeowner Ignoring Dry Time Instead
I stopped scrolling TikTok because I thought it’d be extra satisfying. A driveway sealcoating pro who posts their “artwork” (and I’d argue it truly is) on their handle, @endunabacii967, knows what they’re doing. They take a puddle of sealcoat and paint it across a driveway with skill, easing it along edges and precarious seams. Ah, the stress relief. But in this case, the homeowner ruins the whole thing.
“She’s moving this car for sure.”
The sealcoating expert starts at the top of the driveway. He has a helper. Together, they push the material smoothly back and forth across the pavement. The multi-car garage has one door closed, and another open. The homeowner had already taken out a car, leaving a Tesla inside.
Then, the front door opens.
The resident expresses the need to take the other car out. Well, too bad, the pro explains. The sealcoating has already started. They’ll need to wait 24 hours before driving on the fresh coat.
Besides, they told the company they only needed the one car. “It’s gonna get all over your concrete,” the pro warns the homeowner of tire tracks on the sidewalk, which could set permanently.
Sealcoating stress relief turned trainwreck
The pros carry on with their task. But soon, the homeowner walks into the garage and gets into the parked Tesla. More warnings follow.
“I think she’s gonna do it,” @endunabacii967 tells his partner. “No…” the other guy responds in disbelief.
Well, she did.
The driver plows the Tesla over the sealcoating, getting her tires nice and covered. Sure enough, her car leaves two dark tracks on the concrete sidewalk. She turns left out of the driveway and heads out of the neighborhood.
Quickly, @endunabacii967 grabs the garden hose and sprays the tracks as fast as he can. His partner asks if it’s okay, if the tracks will come off. “No, it’s not okay. It’s not my fault, either.”
The pros cleans off as much sealcoat as they can, but the damage is done. While my senses feel attacked, it’s the homeowner who has to live with their impatience.
How to remove driveway sealant from concrete
There’s really no easy way, but according to Reddit, you can try a few things. Commenters most strongly suggest good-ole elbow grease. You can take a sharp knife and try to scrape it all off. A wire brush or grinder can help, too.
If the sealant doesn’t budge, there are chemicals you can use, too. In any case, “get it sooner than later” seems universal advice.
I reached out to @endunabacii967 to ask whether this has ever happened during a sealcoating job before, and what advice he has for homeowners facing a temporarily unusable driveway.
