“This is the new 2023 Lexus RX, and soon you’ll be seeing it everywhere,” Doug DeMuro said in his newest video. Upon reviewing the Lexus sport utility vehicle, DeMuro called it an “ultra-popular luxury SUV.” But this isn’t the SUV you remember from high school, especially the all-new RX 500h F SPORT Performance.

While Doug DeMuro is a popular YouTube personality, seeing him review the 2023 Lexus RX is exciting. Not only does it mean people are interested in the new Lexus RX SUV, but more automakers must be paying attention to DeMuro as well.

Lexus says it wanted to maintain the attributes that made the RX SUV so popular: a comfortable cabin, a quiet interior, a refined ride on the road, and an enjoyable experience overall. It sounds like Lexus is staying in its reliable luxury SUV lane. DeMuro says the RX has been one of the most popular luxury SUVs “in existence” for the last 25 years, so why change what works?

DeMuro says that the four new powertrain options are a reflection of how popular this Lexus SUV is. The regular RX350, hybrid RX350h, RX450h, and the new RX500h.

The 2023 Lexus RX sport utility vehicle will get many new options for buyers, like six different trim levels. These are Standard, Premium, RX-first Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and F SPORT Performance. The new 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT Performance variety will have 367 hp and the new DIRECT4 drivetrain for the first time. 

“This is really the first time Lexus has gone down the true performance route with the RX. There were F SPORT models before, but it was largely cosmetic. Now, you have this RX500h that really does have some big power and some impressive performance numbers.”

Beyond that, the touchscreen on the interior of the 2023 Lexus RX has received a major upgrade. In previous versions, drivers had to use the remote touch control with a mouse pad of sorts. Now, a 14-inch responsive touchscreen takes its place. DeMuro says it is an excellent infotainment system, a source of contention for many new car buyers.

DeMuro says the other standout item in this new vehicle is the interior. He notes that the materials used are high-quality and even says it is beautiful. “It has gorgeous materials, a gorgeous layout everywhere you look.”

While the 2023 Lexus RX has plenty of changes, Lexus hasn’t released pricing on the new version yet. In the video, DeMuro reviews the top-of-the-line RX 500h, price unknown. Like most cars, America’s favorite luxury SUV will probably get a price bump, especially on the top-level trims. Keep an eye out for pricing on all of the 2023 Lexus RX as we get closer to a release date.
