You have heard and probably read all the rave reviews for Kia’s largest SUV contributor, the Telluride. Introduced this year, the third-row crossover almost immediately began earning accolades from the critics. And it was only the beginning.

Once SUV buyers experienced the 2020 Kia Telluride for themselves, their reviews and testimonials mirrored those of the experts. Not long after its introduction, the Telluride began earning top industry and class awards. So, it may not surprise you to learn it’s recently acquired yet another piece of hardware.

Kia’s winningest vehicle in the family

The 2020 Kia Telluride impressed everyone from official automotive critics to consumers and SUV-buying families. And the proof is in the award-winning pudding as the Telluride earned top honors in several key categories.

They call it the “Triple Crown” when a vehicle can land the trifecta of industry awards. According to Kia’s website, the popular SUV won the 2020 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year, MotorTrend’s SUV of the Year, and even Car and Driver’s 10 Best.

These top honors were awarded based on test drives, competitive comparisons, safety, design, value, and performance. It’s not often that one SUV can excel in each category so well. But the 2020 Kia Telluride certainly did.

Taking home yet another award

The award ceremonies aren’t over yet for the Kia Telluride. Don’t look now, but the most winningest SUV just earned yet another accolade and top honors.

ALG, a True Car company, named the Telluride as the winner of its ‘Design Innovation Award.’ Calling out the SUVs stunning design as an industry-best, ALG suggests the Telluride’s rugged exterior married with its luxurious interior components is the most innovative.

The ALG officials go on to cite that no other vehicle does family practicality and luxury styling better. The beefy and capable exterior demonstrates the SUVs adventurous nature. The supple leather interiors and ample supply of USB ports make it comfortable and functional.

Why the 2020 Kia Telluride is so popular

The Kia Telluride came on stage for its 2020 year introduction and hasn’t looked back since. It’s a midsize SUV with seating capacity for seven or eight, although it’s Kia’s largest member of the family. It’s a go-getter under the hood with its 3.8-liter V6, harnessing 291 hp.

The eight-speed automatic transmission makes for smooth shifting. And while front-wheel drive comes standard, consumers can opt for the all-wheel drive version, as well.

The Telluride is also a powerhouse of function, comfort, and luxury. Buyers can select from four trim levels to carve out their precise roster of amenities: LX, S, EX, and SX. No matter which version of the Telluride you sample, you’ll see just how impressive the drive, utility, and experience really is.

What’s new for the 2021 Kia Telluride?

For the 2021 Kia Telluride, not much has changed. Of course, how can Kia improve on near-perfection? The only real addition, and it’s a stunner, is the introduction of the Nightfall Edition package.

This package levels up the Telluride’s already impressive styling, with a sleeker exterior look and black touchpoints galore. The wheels are blacked out, and there are glossy exterior accents. Everything else, from the spacious cabin to the robust menu of standard tech and safety, will remain the same.

When it comes to seven and eight-passenger SUVs, there might not be any more impressive than the Kia Telluride. There are plenty of behemoth contenders in this crowded space, but it’s the Telluride that continues to earn top honors.

It’s no surprise that in addition to the big three awards already presented, the Telluride has earned yet another accolade. This latest design and innovation accolade just indicates the SUVs ability to impress in almost every category.

If you haven’t yet driven one for yourself, you should. It’s not every day you can park a four-category award winner your garage, either.
